Byron contacted the Nacinta before Athee arrived. Once she began notifying the prefects, questions would arise regarding the alien ship. He needed confirmation of the probe’s appearance.
“Commander, we’ve received no word of a strange ship in that area or detected anything unusual,” Ganter announced. “We’ll inform the Litheron and the Darentor, but scanning for a deep space probe will become secondary if the enemy advances. We just received word that a Torbeth vessel has joined the Narcon and Vindicarn cruisers in sector 119-322.”
