The presidential police district guard had completed the searching the niche of the villa and were moving across the hallway. "Better remove your goggle here." The officer in charge known as Akuma said. The men had already neared the sunken area in the middle of the villa. Akuma enjoyed being out of the heavy goggles and stretched his neck as they descend Into the sunken niche to scan the areas. Akuma swung his detector over the ornament decorating the place, nothing hidden here. He was not surprised, the canister according to the video feeds was hidden in a dark place. As the team moved across the niche, they came to a bulk grate covering a hole in the floor, the hole leads to a steep and narrow stairway that went straight down. They have heard stories of the secret passage and of what lies there. They were glad they don't have to descend there, only the president have the key to it. A white zone that leads to places no man knows. Except for the man that holds the key, and the kingmakers too. The guards had completely searched the hallway and were moving across to the adjacent building. They reach the poolside where a guard was found unconscious some hours ago. Akuma looked up, staring at what looked like a broken window of a room on the upper floor. "Don't you think the guard fell from that place?" Akuma asked no one in particular. Several heads murmured but none offer any audible response. Akuma shrugged, that's one of the perils of employing idiots. They talk when they ought to keep shut and murmur when they ought to talk. He can only complain, what else can he do. Nyanya bombing, a barbaric and extremely wicked act that Akuma believed was politically motivated. Unbelievably, politicians are now playing chess with citizens' lives. Akuma was indeed grieved stricken as his heart goes out to the bereaved, especially those who have been orphaned or widowed and those deprived of their breadwinners by this evil act. He can feel their pains, anguish, and loss. He has no doubt the act was unpatriotically and politically motivated by the opposing party who have been making utterances and comments promoting violence and bloodshed as a means of achieving political control. Some people of this said party have aimed at undermining the security forces and emboldening insurgents against the people. The promoted violence has given birth to a monster. This is the end product of their statement, a country now flowing daily with the blood of Innocent citizens. The question is: How did they feel when they see the mangled and blood-soaked bodies of their victims? How did they feel when they heard the voice of the injured and the cries of the dying? Of course, Akuma believed they feel nothing, their heart have been hardened and they are embittered by the fact that they have been rejected by the people. They are bitter because the people have chosen to rally and voted for the government they love. Now they have chosen the path of violence and bloodletting as a response to the wishes and aspirations of the people. The team searched through the corridors up the steps to the next floor to be followed by the next. So far, their search had been uneventful. The team soon lose count of the steps they have searched when one of the district police officers noticed a strange mist that looks like a portal to another world blocking their way along the step. The searching team had paused confused. For some time now, Akuma had been trying to call Tafa's walkie-talkie all to no avail. Akuma, a barrel chested man with soft putty like features and surprisingly crystalline voice that is small for such a large man. When he spoke, his tone had the clarity of a musical instrument. Despite the precision of his infection, Akuma's eyes were cloudy like those of some nocturnal mammals. He pointed to the two men on his left side. " Put on your goggle, go and find out what cause that shimmering void- a large sphere of grey that was not quite grey shimmered with trace of a broken spectrum- be alert and get your weapon ready." Dead with fear, the two secrets police officers wobble towards the void. Suddenly, coming out if the shimmering grey space was something Akuma could swear with his life that look like a two pairs of humans arm, reaching towards the guards. The grey travelled immediately over their bodies, until it took hold of their arms, lifting them up and drawing them into the void. The strong police officers struggle unsuccessfully against the force of it. Akuma stood horrified. For whatever or whoever was on the other side of the void was trying to pull the screaming stout policemen up and through. The whole team stood terrified and transfixed for a while. Suddenly with a reflective jerk, Akima turned and grabbed the gun off the hand of the guard by his right hand, leveled it at the grey spot and shoot. The bullet flew across the thirty feet separating them from the void. A second after, the arms withdrew, dropping the now quite men with a deafning thud. For a seconds, the grey void seemed to have blinked out of existence and total darkness evolved the whole places. Then a massive explosion erupted from the place where the void once occupied, sending wall of heat towards them. Without waiting for orders, the secret police officers razed blindly backwards. Akuma felt like a surfer trying to outrun a thousand foot tidal waves as they all rushed down the steps not fearing of any misplaced steps. Some officers fell along the steps to be trample upon by those on their back and many sustain much injury from escaping from the approaching waves of fire. Then suddenly the fire reverse, like a fluid back to it's container. The strange void reappeared, shimmering as usual in the darken room. Unfortunately the two guards were gone, disappeared into the void and maybe never to be seen again.
