I squatted next to the rocks, sitting in the simple bubbling stream as my clothing dried on the stones next to me. Kisten had drifted into the woods to hunt, hoping to calm the animals stirred up inside of him by our argument. Rocks and trees loomed all around and above me and it was tempting to relax my guard and just enjoy the scenery. I was still filled with my anger however, and I found it hard to relax.
“Stupid hypocrite,” I whispered under my breath, splashing the water as it flowed around me. “Says he want to do things ‘the right way’ when it comes to courting me, but unwilling to even consider being patient when it comes to our f*****g lives? Who’s the impatient one now?”
