SOPHIE'S POV
It was dinner time and Johnny had to join us for dinner. My mom insisted he stayed for dinner and there was nothing I could do to change her mind so I just shrugged my shoulders at him when he asked for a way out. Not like I wanted him to leave either.
My parents were acting all lovely dowey right at the table and all that went through my brain were images of Fiona and Donald. I took a lot of food to ease my frustration.
From my side eye I saw Johnny pick just steaks and bolognese spaghetti. I looked at my plate and compared it to his and for a moment I felt embarrassed but it didn't last for long when I thought of Donald again.
My mom noticed how large my portion of food was and she knew I ate this much only when I am angry or frustrated about something. It's like a way of venting out my anger.
"What's wrong honey." She asked from her side of the table.
I stabbed the steaks in my plate with my fork and didn't reply her. I felt tears welling up and I tried to hold them back. I didn't want to cry for someone that isn't worth it. But the pain was too much for my fragile heart to bear.
"Are you crying?" Her voice came from beside me. I didn't notice when she arrived at my side of the table. I rested my head on her shoulder and covered my face with my palm and cried my heart out.
Johnny sat quietly and watched me but I didn't care. I didn't feel embarrassed crying in front of him.
"It's okay dear. Everything is going to be fine." Her soothing voice invaded my senses and I could feel myself calming down.
When I was sure my vocal cords won't fail me I turned to her. "He cheated."
Her eyes widened in surprise. She took almost a minute thinking of what to say next. "That asshole." She gritted her teeth. But it's not bad. You can find another guy. Not like he was handsome anyways."
"Language dear." My dad chipped in. He didn't involve himself in the conversation and just sat quietly and ate his meal.
"Sorry dear."
Johnny giggled. "Finally someone else is seeing things from my point of view."
"What??" I questioned.
"I was wondering what you saw in him honestly. Even Jonny is more handsome than him." My mom said.
"That's because you have only seen him in pictures mom. And Johnny don't allow my mom fool you."
"She has better taste than you so I believe her." I felt like reaching out and giving him a big knock on his head.
Donald has not visited my house before so my mom has only seen him in pictures. I had invited him countless times to our house and he declined my invitations to visit. Thinking of it now it seems he has never had feelings for me. It has only been my own wishful thinking that he loved me.
"He's actually not wow. He's just normal." Johnny added.
"Johnny are you supporting her? I thought we were friends."
"At this point I have to come clean. I didn't say it earlier because you two were dating and you seemed to be hell in love with him."
I sighed. What they are saying is making sense. Looking at things now that we are no longer together alot of boys are finer than Donald. For instance Johnny that is seated right here and even Archie his best friend is better looking than him.
"Host a party." My mom said interrupting my thoughts.
"Huh? Why?" At this moment I was lost.
"Do you need a reason to host a party?? Well if you really need one then it's to moving on. Let him know you have gotten over him."
'She's such a baddie.' Johnny whispered to me when I looked at him.
"He doesn't know I know he's cheating on me."
"Then you let him know. Get a date. And please one that is terribly hot. And I recommend Johnny."
I looked at Johnny and shook my head. I wouldn't want Annabelle on my neck. "He's taken." I told my mom.
"Ohhhh." She held her heart like she was in pain. I shook my head at her. So dramatic. "See the opportunity you missed when you stuck yourself with a monkey."
"He's not that ugly mom."
"Whatever." She said and rolled her eyes. "Send invitations out. The party is going to be tomorrow night."
"It's too sudden mom."
"What better night than on a Saturday night. And to let him know him cheating on you got nothing out of you. His loss.
"My phone is in my school bag. Let's go to the sitting room if everyone is done with eating." I said and stood up.
My mom's plan got me active. It was thrilling and mischievous to plan for a revenge. Not really a revenge though.
We got to the living room and my dad sat on his seat and did whatever he normally used his phone and laptop to do. Business as usual.
I brought out my phone from my school bag and turned it on. There were fifteen missed calls from Donald and a credit alert message from......my dad.
I opened the envelope and my dad sent a hundred dollars to me with a note that read "Spoil yourself for the weekend. You don't have to date assholes that aren't worth it."
I screamed and ran to my dad. I hugged and pecked him.
"Hey get off my man. Go get yours." My mom half screamed from where she was seated. My dad chuckled and continued with work.
"Are you spending the night here?" I asked Johnny.
"Nah.... my driver is coming to get me."
I reached out and hit his head. "You should have said so earlier so he can get a smooth gate pass and not answer unnecessary questions at the gate.
My dad called the gate and told them we were expecting someone.
We just finished sending out invitations to all our friends including the bad eggs of the ceremony Fiona and Donald.
I heard the door bell and ran to get the door. No doubt it was Johnny's driver.
I opened the door and what I saw left my stunned and frozen at the spot.
A handsome young man presumably in his twenties because he looked too good to be so old as to be in his thirties.
He had a well chilled face and an oval eye that fitted his face perfectly. With a slightly pointy nose and thin pink lips. One any woman would be tempted to kiss at first sight and I wasn't an exception.
His adam's apple got me admiring his smooth neck. His chest was slightly revealed as he had his first three buttons undone.
He was dressed in a white long sleeve shirt that was folded up to his well built and slender amrs, black trousers and a black nike canvas.
His hands were tucked into his pocket and he was staring at me.
This definitely can't be Johnny's driver dripping hormones in front of my house.
"Ohh you came instead." Johnny said from behind me to the guy that was standing in front of me.
"Sophie meet my brother Cullen, Cullen meet my friend Sophie." Johnny introduced us and damn. This was his brother. How did they get such genes.
I stretched my chubby hand. " Hey there nice meeting you."
He eyed me from hair to toe. His eyes scrutinizing every inch of me. And I felt so uncomfortable. This is the one time I regretted having so much fat on my body and not being like every normal girl.
I was about to retreat my hand when he brought out his hand and took mine. Gosh.... his hand was so soft.
He held my hand for some time and released it. He nodded his head at me, turned and walked to his car parked in front of the house.
"Goodnight girl." Johnny waved his hand at me and followed after his brother. I waved my hands back at him with my eyes trying to bore a hole through the window of the car just to get a glimpse of Cullen.
