A cake flashed in my face as the door came open.
I gasped at the sudden appearance and was about to rant about how inappropriate it was when my mother popped her face out from behind the cake.
"Hey Girl," she announced cheerfully. "I'm happy that you're awake. I brought you this delicious banana cake."
"Mom, you're in my way. I need to go after those men," then I winced at how strange it felt, addressing them as men.
Mom nodded as she caught the hint in my voice. "Men?" She asked. "They're now your brothers, Yulia," she reminded me.
Then she pushed me back into the room before I could react and I shot wide eyes at her. "My goddess, are you trying to kill me?" I complained. My wolf also protested by forcing a low growl out of me.
