Chapter 5Sam sipped his drink, watching the lunch crowd eating and chatting, the laughter going up in volume as the alcohol flowed. The beer garden on Ninth Street was a favorite, the sun warm on his skin, the latest pop songs blaring across the patio. Tad and Sam had spent the last hour or so tucked in a corner downing lemon drop martinis and viciously critiquing the clothing choices of the surrounding patrons. Tad had left for a hookup ten minutes earlier and Sam vaguely wondered what to do with the rest of his day, when a young man with amazing hair caught his attention. The guy leaned a slim hip against a table talking up a tall dude, his neon blue and purple hair mussed just right around his gorgeous face.
