Chapter 8 Maddoxs POV

I introduced myself, Kyle and June to our group and I stole a look in Lila’s direction. While we’re doing roll calls, she’s on her phone texting someone. For some reason, I don’t like the idea of her texting her so-called boyfriend. June and Kyle walking over makes me pull my gaze from her. Do we have anyone? I ask, no we are missing 2 people, Ryan Casleberry and Kate Jones. June reports to me. She hands me a tablet and I see 2 student IDs. One is of a girl with long straight hair, brown eyes and full lips. Many would say she’s a pretty girl. The guy was light skinned with curly light brown hair and blue eyes. I’ve seen them before, I think to myself. Then it clicks that this is Lila’s friend and boyfriend. I frown and say we’ll have to go on without them. If they're not here, we can’t wait for them. I mind linking one of the male RA werewolves to check on Ryan and see if he’s in his room. June, do you know her, I asked, turning to her. She looks at me and says "Yeah she’s my suite mate but, she wasn’t in our dorm. I checked all of our rooms before I came here." Well, we have to move on because we have a schedule to keep, I say coming to a decision. Alright, Kyle says loudly, getting everyone's attention. I tune out everything he's saying only by putting in a few comments and ignoring any inappropriate questions. One girl in our group is from my pack and has always had a thing for me. She's a tall girl with blond hair and green eyes. She has very large breasts. Not that I try and look, it seems that she always has them out when I'm around. Her looks can't make up for her awful personality, as if money can make up for everything. Today she's wearing a low cut gray crop top with shorts that hardly cover her ass. I have my back to the group talking to June when she says your girlfriend is walking this way. I rolled my eyes and turned around to see a full make-upped face Chelsea walking towards me. When she reaches me, she glares at June before turning to me and wrapping her arms around me. June waves her fingers at me with an evil smirk on her face before going to help her brother. Maxy baby, why didn't you come to my birthday party last week? She whines trying to run her hand over my abs. I step away from her only for her to step close again. Chelsea, your birthday is in December and not June, plus I'm very busy and I would prefer you to use my title. She looks at me with a glint of mischievousness in her eyes. Oh OK Daddy Maxy and winks at me. I start to growl angrily at her when Ethan walks up and taps me on the shoulder. I turned to see Ryan and Kate behind him smelling of each other. I raised an eyebrow at them and looked at Ethan. Over the mind link he says oh you'll want to hear this story. Oh, really now I respond. Out loud I say my name is Maddox and I am your group leader. Is there a reason why you're late? I said in a firm tone, daring them to give me an excuse. Kate tries to answer but I interrupt and say, well sense neither of you can come up with an answer. I want a 20 page essay on the college and its founding fathers. But, sir, you wouldn’t let her- I interrupt Ryan when he tries to defend Kate. AND it's due in 2 weeks. It is clear if you fail to turn it in, it will affect your grade for this course. Understand? I asked, looking at them hard. Before they could say anything else, I turned and walked away. Ethan follows me and I let him catch up. Tonight you can tell me what and where you found them. Oh, I won't leave out a single detail, Alpha" he says. Hey Ethan, I said as he was walking away. Knowing he was on last night's patrol, I called him, “ Ethan thanks for the favor. ``No problem,'' he shouts back. As I turned back to the group, I saw a bright aura that made all the werewolves even me wince in pain. When I look to see who is causing this, I see Lila burning like a flame on a moonless night.
