Chapter 7 Lilas POV

I woke up to my usual panting and put my head between my knees after calming down. I looked at my phone and saw that it was 7:30 am. I got up and went to get ready for the day. As I was washing my hair, I thought of my dream last night. It changed. I dreamed of that boy from the pizza parlor last night in an open clearing with flowers in it. Then all of a sudden the dark gray wolf appeared and that's when the howling started. I can feel that something else happened and I can't remember it to save my life. I get out of the shower and finish getting ready. By the time I’m done, I look at the time and see it's 8:15. I decided to go to the cafe and get breakfast. I go and knock on Kate's door before opening it and see that she's not in there. Shutting the door and going back into my room, I put on my shoes. As I came out of my room to see my suite mate is also leaving. She looks up when she sees me and waves. I waved back awkwardly. Hi, my name is June Hallo. You must be Lila, right? I take her extended hand in a handshake and an idea pops into my head. Would you like to have breakfast with me? I wasn't really looking forward to eating alone, plus I didn't know where the cafe was. I giggle and so does she. Yeah, I will totally go with you. As we walked to the cafe and ate, I found out that she's got an older brother that also goes to school here. When I asked if she was a freshman like me, she told me that she was a sophomore. Wait if you're a sophomore, how and why are you here? It's the middle of the summer. Well, I'm the RA for our floor, so that means someone has to babysit all the freshmen running around here, she explained. In the middle of our conversation, she gets a call and informs me that some stupid freshman got locked out of their room and needed to go deal with it. Saying bye, I remained at our table and looked at my phone and saw it's only 8:45. As if my mom knew I was free, her face popped up on my screen telling me to call her. The phone rang twice before I heard her voice." Hey baby how's it going? “ It's going pretty good,'' I told her. I can hear my dad ask who she's on the phone with. Ooooo tell us what your dorm is like my father says. I giggled before saying anything. “Well you walk in and it's the living room and kitchen. If you're standing in the kitchen, you could go left and see bedrooms A and B along with their bathroom or you can turn right and see bedrooms C and D with their bathroom.” Wow my mom says closely followed, so which room are you in? And what about Kate? Well, I'm in room C and as for Kate, I have no idea she wasn't in her room when I woke up and I hadn't seen her yet this morning. I tell her honestly. Oh that’s weird, says my mother. Yeah, well, I did meet my suite mate this morning. Oh really, what’s she like? Before I could respond to my mother's question, I heard a horn blow and looked at the time. s**t it’s 9:00. Mom and Dad gotta go love you! Love you too, they reply. I quickly hung up the phone and ran to where my group met. That’s when I smell him, I find my group and see him up on the stage with another boy from the pizza parlor. We make eye contact and I look away to find Kate or Ryan. I stop looking when I hear them start talking. Hello, my name is Maddox and I will be one of your group leaders today. This is my best friend Kyle and his little sister June.
