Chapter 2 Seths POV

It wasn't long after Alpha and Luna got settled that there was a knock on the door making everyone jump. I rushed to the door and looked through the little peep hole and saw a short man with red hair and green eyes standing on the other side. As I open the door, a gust of wind hits me in the face and for a second I think I smell something. Quickly, I reached my hand out and grabbed the young man and pulled him inside. He makes a small yelp as the door shuts and I put a claw into his throat. He calmly says “ my my, does the brown bird burn bright? The alpha replies with “Yes, with the help of the Lilac''. OK Seth, you can let Regan go. Regan chuckles and looks at me. I nodded at him and shook his hand. Luna Kenody walked out of the bedroom where she was changing little Lila. That baby has always had a soft spot in my heart. My mate Sage and I have watched both the Alphas kids since they were born. But Lila has always been my favorite, not that Gabe was a bad child, but Lila just reminds me so much of her mother. Lunna Kenody and I grew up together. Her father was the Beta at the time and, after an accident that claimed both my parents' lives, they took me in. When I was younger, I secretly hoped that she would be my mate. Alpha John lost his mother when he was 15. The grief-stricken Alpha sent him away to train and learn how to be a good alpha and didn't come back till her 18th birthday. John was closer to my age. Our birthdays were 3 days apart, while Kennedy was 2 years younger than us. Her brother was also close to our age. I may not have an officially important title, but both the Alpha and Beta agreed that I would be the Alphas guard. I was the best warrior in the pack and was always taken on trips with the Alphas and Betas family. Hell, I am family. I was given the official title when Gabe was born. Rogues had attacked the pack and if not for me, Kennedy and Gabe wouldn't have made it. Kennedy as if she knew I was thinking of her mind linked me. “Seth?... '' Yes Luna, I replied. Cut the bullshit. Seth uses my name, not my title. She snaps at me. Sensing her irritation, John looked over at her and I chuckled. Out loud, I say you know I will only use your name when we are not doing pack business, the same as Alpha John and Beta Justin. With a roll of her eyes she motioned to the cabin, then to Lila. What would you call this, she asks with a raised eyebrow. I look around the two-room cabin and my eyes land on the couch in the so-called living room. s**t, that's what I have to sleep on that won't hold my legs let alone my whole body, I think to myself. Without giving an answer, I looked at John and said I'd say it's both. He nodded in agreement. Anyway, Kennedy says, grabbing both our attention. I have a weird feeling. Could you look around and see if you see anything or if you can find something. I walked over to her, giving a kiss on the top of her head, saying sure. Regan spoke up and said, I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels like something is about to happen. I open the bedroom door just as John pulls out a type recorder and sets it on the table. Regan, do you mind if I record this? he asks. He replies with a shake of his head and John turns it on. I announced that I'd be outside checking around the house. As I put on my coat, Kenody and John both looked at me and said thank you. After 30 min of looking around the house and the car, I tried to convince myself that the feeling in the pit of my stomach was wrong and everything was fine. But my gut kept telling me it wasn't. There were no sounds of wild life, no birds, squires, rabbits or deer. The forest was completely silent until it hit me the stench of rogues. I ran in the house and screamed ROGUES" WE NEED TO GO NOW!!!!!!!
