Chapter 3 Kennedys POV

We are almost done asking Regan our questions when Seth barges into the room screaming. ROGUES WE NEED TO GO NOW!!!!!!! John and I hopped out of our chairs while I ran to the bedroom and grabbed Lila and the bag I packed. When I rush out, I see that John is fighting off a rogue, while Regan is closest to me and ready to fight if needed. I put Lila in my baby wrap and held her close to my body. John kills the brown wolf he was fighting and we rush out the door. The first thing I see is Seth fighting off 3 wolves and 2 charging at John, while a smaller black she-wolf charges at me. I let my claws out and killed her quickly. I turned to see Regan fighting 2 other wolves. I rush over to help and quickly kill one gray wolf while the smaller red wolf turns and runs. I looked over to John and Seth to see them fighting back to back. John had a cut above his eye and Seth had a scratch on his shoulder. Regan jumps over quickly and takes over for Seth to heal. John yelled at him to take me and run. Seth takes Lila out of my rap and tells me to shift. I do and he re-raps her around my wolf's chest and shifts himself. As we are running, 5 more wolves pop out of nowhere and quickly gain on us. My wolf, determined to keep her pup safe, turns to fight, Seth’s dark gray wolf doing the same. A white wolf jumps at me, knocking us on our side before trying to bite my neck. I managed to push her off and bite her tail. I can feel John's pain through the mate bond and know he's in trouble. I mind link Seth telling him John is in trouble. He booms over the mind link to keep running and to get somewhere safe. Just then, pain erupts on my side, taking my wolf to the ground. I hear John through the mind link telling me to run, to take our baby somewhere safe. I started crying because I knew I wouldn't make it in time to save him. J I love you. I love you too, Kennedy, he says. As soon as the words reach my ears, the mind link cuts and I can feel my heart breaking into a million pieces. I pour all my heartbreak and anger and snap the neck of the last rogue. Seth, having shifted back, walked over to me. I let out a howl over the loss of my mate. Seth takes Lila out of the wrap which was barely hanging on, and rocks her back to sleep. I hadn't realized she was awake and crying. I hear rustling and see Regans wolf enter the small clearing. We take a step towards each other and I see a flash of light and see the end of a gun. I raced to Seth and my daughter in time to hear a BANG! And pain erupted from my chest. I can see Seth freaking out above me trying to keep the blood in my body. I can hear my baby crying and a different kind of pain washes over me. I grab Seth's hand and said. Locket front pocket. Give to the baby. Watch over them. I love you.
