I went home that night like Luca told me to. Not because he told me to. I was done doing things simply because Luca Carver said them with enough certainty to make the air in a room rearrange itself. I went home because Eli had fallen back asleep and Daniel had left with his tight jaw and his phone held close to his chest and there was nothing left for me to do in Room 204 except sit with my own thoughts and my thoughts were already too loud.
