"Yiwen’s Awakening"
Yiwen finally opened her eyes, wincing in pain. "Damn," she cursed, glancing around the unfamiliar room.
Her heart raced with confusion and fear. “Where am I?” she wondered, struggling to reconcile her current state with her previous predicament on the street.
Just then, the door swung open, and a kindly woman, looking like a cook, entered with a tray of food and a bowl of soup.
“You’re awake,” the woman said with a gentle smile, though her eyes held a curious glint.
“Relax, you’re in the right place. The young master brought you here and instructed me to take care of you after I got a hint of what happened yesterday,” the woman explained with warmth in her voice.
Yiwen’s fear began to abate as she processed the woman’s words. “Oh,” she said, feeling a bit more at ease.
Remembering the woman’s earlier comment, Yiwen frowned slightly. “Wait, I’ve been here since yesterday?” she asked, astonished. The woman nodded, still smiling.“How is that even possible?” Yiwen asked in disbelief, making the woman chuckle softly.“Don’t worry. The young master insisted we give you a sedative to help you rest. He was considerate, knowing you might need it after what happened,” the woman said.“Quick, eat your food. You should also bathe and get dressed. I’ve instructed a maid to bring you some clothes. The doctor will be here soon,” she continued, setting the tray down and helping Yiwen sit up.
“Thank you,” Yiwen murmured.
“You don’t need to thank me. It’s my job,” the woman replied with a smile, then turned to leave.
“Sorry, but I’d like to know, is the young master around?” Yiwen asked hesitantly. The woman paused, a raised eyebrow signaling her curiosity.
“I just want to thank him personally,” Yiwen added quickly.
“I understand. Just eat your food. He’s not home at the moment. There was an emergency he had to attend to. He should be back by noon,” the woman said before exiting the room.
Meanwhile: Alexander’s Dilemma
Alexander, intent on keeping his arrival in the city discreet from his parents, found himself driving to their villa, puzzled by how the news of his presence leaked. As the phone rang, Alexander turned to his driver, irritation clear in his voice.
“Disconnect the call immediately if you value your job,” he ordered.“Young master, I—” the driver began, but Alexander cut him off.“I’ll handle it,” Alexander said, snatching the phone from the driver’s hand and answering it.“Finally, Yiwen, it took you forever to answer! Where on earth are you? I’m coming over to pick you up,” the voice on the other end, Lexia, demanded. Alexander’s heart skipped a beat as he realized this was Yiwen’s phone.“If you’re looking for her, may I ask your relationship with her?” Alexander inquired calmly.“Hello? Yiwen?” Lexia’s voice wavered, pretending not to hear him.“If you can’t hear me, feel free to hang up,” Alexander replied tersely.“Alright, alright. I’m Lexia, Yiwen’s best friend. Who are you?” Lexia asked, her frustration evident.“She’s safe here. I’m not with her now, but I’ll make sure she calls you later,” Alexander said, intentionally sidestepping her last question.“Hey! You’ve answered my—” Lexia began to protest, but Alexander had already disconnected the call.
“Damn you, stranger!” Lexia yelled into the void, her frustration echoing. The words “feel free to hang up” haunted her more than she cared to admit.
At the De Cave’s Villa
Inside the villa, Old George looked around the parlor with a stern expression.
with a stern expression.
“Where’s Alexander?” he demanded. “Grandfather, we know Alexander. He never attends these meetings. Let’s just get on with it,” Aidan replied dismissively.
“You’ve always been resistant to him being here,” Delma snapped.
“Children, let’s not argue about Alexander,” Old George interjected.
"Anyway, grand father. I've decided to make you and my mom here proud, "Aidan announces, breaking the awkward silence that followed Old George utterance.
“Now, Aidan, what’s this about making us proud?," Susannah, Aidan's mom asked, pretending not to know what he meant. “I’ve brought someone special.”He walked out, returning with Novela, a stunning woman with impeccable fashion sense.
“Everyone, meet the love of my life, Novela,” Aidan introduced.
“Novela, this is my grandfather,” he added, gesturing toward Old George.
“Nice to meet you, Grandfather. Aidan has told me so much about you,” Novela said, extending her hand.
Old George, however, looked at her hand and then back at her, declining the handshake with a reserved nod
“Let me introduce you to my mother as well,” Aidan began, but Novela interrupted.“Let me guess. You told me your mother is the most beautiful woman here. So i suppose she's your mom,” she said, pointing to Judith.“No," Aidan yelled, but Novela had already embraced Judith.“Certainly, she’s more attractive,” Delma said sarcastically, watching the scene unfold.Aidan pulled Novela away from Judith. “No, not her!” he snapped.“But you told me…” Novela began, confused.“Forget what I told you!” Aidan insisted.
"Oh, common lover boy, as you can see, I'm innocent here. It's not my fault that I'm too good looking that even someone else's p********e chases after me, "Alexander bursts out, making both Delma and Judith laugh out loud.
"This is more like my brother," Delma proudly whispers to her mom, who nods in response.
"Of course, have you forgotten I raised him myself?" Judith boasts with a smile.
"No, not you, grandfather did," Delma replies, only to meet the evil gaze of her mom.
"At least my blood flow through him," Judith says, making Delma surrender to her.
"Aren't I your type, huh?"Novela asks out of blues almost in tears, making both Judith and Delma turn to her again.
"Of course you are," Alexander replies, making her blush. "In your wildest dream," he quickly adds, and again, Novela eyes turn pale. "But I like you," She utters." Dream on and get lost," Alexander mutters and walks away to take his seat some miles away from Old George. In tears, Novela picks up her bag and turns to Aidan. "Your family is a wreck," she says and walks out in anger. "I'm here now, i think we should let the meeting begin, Alexander says, and in anger, Old George turns to Aidan.
"You haven't found a woman yet, and I'm sure you know that," Old George, who has turned dizzy after the display between his grandsons utters. "Now listen to me, Alexander, and you also Aidan. I give you fourteen days to bring a woman before me and not just any woman because prepare your mind because you're going to spend the rest of your life with whoever you choose. I'll happily write my will after fourteen days," Old George utters and instantly walks out in anger. "A woman in fourteen days, Alexander wonders so sure that Old George meant his words.
