“Don’t worry about it,” Eleanor said, resting her head on Michael’s shoulder. “And don’t think so much about the tournament. Just think about the sports games. Those come first, right?”
“This is true,” Michael said, nodding happily.
“You’ll finally be able to race and stuff. You’ll finally know for sure if you really are the fastest in the world,” Eleanor teased.
Michael managed not to tense up, but even though it went unseen, he did glance back at nothing, no one nor nowhere.
That was true.
