No one really expected such a thing from the most successful supra-mutant vigilante. That he would have such an ingenious and inventive mind as to allow him to build such gadgets, and then that he would decide to hide these attributes of his behind the appearance of supernatural abilities. And then that he would fight crime with it, and be better at it than those who could shoot lasers, freeze entire streets, and so on.
