I wake up to silence. For a moment, I don't move. The ceiling above me is dark wood. The air smells like leather and smoke and something metallic underneath it. The sheets are cool against my skin. I remember where I am before I open my eyes fully. Munro's room. The chair in the corner. His promise. "I'll stay until you fall asleep." He hadn't touched the bed. Hadn't even come close to it.
