Akilah finished a steaming shower before she went to see her mate because she did not want him worrying about her, but the longer she was away from him, the more desperately she wanted to see him. He was the light within the darkness of her life and she had had no idea how desperately she was searching for the sunshine until the moment she laid her eyes on him and saw his joy at finding her.
