Chapter 2: Preparation

"You must have watched yourself, b*tch! You know that if someone filmed or stole images from you, you will be the star of the news again!"
Here she goes again, my oh-so-very noisy best friend Ms Annie Versoza, the flirty and loudmouthed best friend of mine.
I ignored what she said because I knew what she was saying. Well, I'm really at the news but it says that I'm a party girl and I'm a rebel to the family. But I didn't really answer their questions and I'm not going to protest because I love my family.
"Just shut up, I can handle myself," I told Annie. She must be worried again that someone filmed me with the guy that I met last night.
Speaking of that guy, his jacket is still with me. I pulled it from the table and smelled it. Hmm... It smells so fine, such a manly perfume he has. I like its fragrance. I wonder when will I see him again.
After inhaling his jacket, I went downstairs to eat. I know that my parents will scold me again, they do that all the time.
I'm now facing the table with my mom, my dad, and my brother. We were just quiet while eating not until my mother spoke.
"When will you stop going to the club? Can't you do what's best for you? Do you want those people to say terrible things to you?" Mom asked. Oh, here she is again, she always says about my life in clubs or malls and some hotels.
"If she won't fix herself, she will be arranged into a marriage."
I dropped the utensils due to shock and my brother stood up. "Dad! You can't do that to her, let her find the man she wants!" he defended me. His jaw clenched and mom calmed him down so he sat back on his chair.
He wants me to marry the man I don't want, the man that I do not love. He's forcing me into a hard situation! I can't just sit here and watch!
I clenched the spoon and fork tight. "How can you do this to me, Dad? You can't arrange me to a man I don't know!" I huffed and glared at him.
"Don't you dare glare at me, Callyanna Therese! I will do this if you won't behave yourself, so prove yourself to me so that I won't settle you in a marriage!"
His voice thundered as his eyes sharpened and looked at me. I stepped back and sat on my chair, being scared. I breathed deeply, I should be calm.
I soothed myself and apologised because it was wrong to fight in the middle of eating. My dad just frightened me with another bullsh*t, who would not oppose that right?
"There's a party that will be held by the Paguirigan Family, that family just arrived in the Philippines and we're going to be there to welcome them. Again, don't disappoint me, Callyanna." Dad muttered and then emerged from his seat before walking out. He really wants me to be better at speaking with his business partners for what? for money?
Mom sighed out of nowhere. "Just follow what your father told you, Callyanna. You want to gain your father's trust, right? Then do better." She mumbled before standing up and left us too.
This is so frustrating, I know they won't trust me anymore, I don't want to be forced in a marriage.
I looked at my older brother, he stared at me with sympathy. "I'm sorry little sis, I can't protect you," he mumbled with sadness in his voice. His hand went to my shoulder and tapped it gently to comfort me.
I simply smiled and concentrate on my own food. I tried to eat even though I'm losing my appetite, my heart is shattering upon hearing that my parents are disappointed.
"I know that you're so very upset now, little sis, but I'm here, just talk to me if you have a problem, okay?"
I nodded as an answer and go back to my room. What should I do? I'm bored. I fished out my phone from my pocket and saw an inbox message from Annie. What will she say to me at this time?
"I have a very beautiful dress for the party of Paguirigan's family! I'm so excited to meet the heir!" I just said 'tch' when I saw her message. I thought she has a crush on brother Ero.
I tapped my keyboard and started typing. "Happy for you," I replied and send the message. This woman is really in mess, if she sees a handsome man, she will flirt with him then if she sees someone who's more handsome, she will quickly go to him, and her routine will repeat again.
My phone beeped and it was her, she is calling and I don't know why. "What do you want?" I asked. This woman won't call unless she wants to say something that is important.
"Don't tell me you won't go to the Paguirigan's party? Our sister Havanna will attend and I know you missed each other!" She said. "You know I can't attend such parties without you!"
"How can I even refuse to attend? My parents already dictated that I'm going to the party," I mumbled and scratched my leg. This is so itchy since this morning.
Even though I rejected what my parents told me, I can't. I want to prove myself to them this night. I just don't know what to do, I don't want to disappoint my parents now. I have to do my best to negotiate and confidently talk with them
I stopped scratching my legs when there was a sudden knock on my door. I held my phone and talked to Annie. "Hey, I need to go right now, see you when I see you tonight," I mumbled. I ended the call and immediately march until I reached the door and opened it.
It was Yaya, Yaya Grandma, my favourite Yaya holding an off-shoulder gold and white dress with gold and white butterflies as its design with some linings. It's a ball gown and it looks so expensive. It's so elegant!
"Hmm, it's elegant."
"Your mom sent this for you to wear tonight! It's so beautiful just like you!" Yaya Grandma is such a joker. Well, she's the one who took care of me since I was born. Mom and dad are so very busy and Yaya was the one who stood as my parents back then.
Yaya Grandma handed me the gown. My lips can't stop gasping because of how elegant it is. "Thank you, Yaya! This gown is so amazing!" I said happily and scanned the gown in my hands.
"Now, prepare for the party and the stylist will go here afternoon," she pushed me lightly inside my room and waved at me before closing the door. Yaya is excited, I can tell it because she sounded like it.
Paguirigan family is Kerko's family but tonight, they said it's a welcome party for a family that is a Paguirigan too. I wonder who they are because I just only know Bother Vince, Sister Havanna, and Mikhael there. I don't even know that they have a cousin.
I decided to sleep for an hour because I'm so tired and I need a lot of energy for tonight's party.
