On the way to the forest reserve
It was the season of endless nights. The sun never came out. Before our eyes, the most beautiful aurora borealis adorned the Norilsk sky. It was colder than on ordinary days. Romanian didn’t seem to notice that the temperature was below normal; she appeared in the living room wearing a T-shirt with short shorts. Lwide was preparing his breakfast, pretending not to see that attractive woman right in front of him, exciting his nature. He had no habit of eating. His plasma supply was running late; it seemed that a large tree had interrupted the road that would bring the package, as if it were insulin. He would need to hunt down something as soon as possible to drink the blood, or he would be vulnerable to the continual desire to suck on some human. Romanian was a potential target for having the most desired blood. He was restrained, but he had never again been around someone with the characteristics of his beloved. She noticed that Lwide had set the table, but hadn’t touched anything. He was strange: he ate little, barely drank water, spoke only what was necessary and hardly ever smiled. Her curiosity at seeing him playing with his cell phone more than usual caught her attention.
-“You didn’t see me here? Did you say good morning?
-Good morning!
-Is that all you have to say to me?
-What do you want me to say besides good morning?
- I want to know why you keep looking at this cell phone?
-It’s part of my job to look at my cell phone.
-But not at breakfast time.
-You’re right. I’ll be in the living room waiting for you.” Lwide left the kitchen without looking him in the eye.
-Get back here! -She comes out to meet him. -Are you deaf?
-What do you want this time, Romanían? Have your coffee so we can go.
-“You don’t give me orders here!” she puts her index finger in his face.
-“Get your finger out of my face, please! Don’t abuse my patience.” Lwide speaks seriously.
-“Is that a threat? That’s right. I’ll fire you as soon as we get back from this weekend.” She stares at him, waiting for a reaction.
-“As you wish. Now get back to your coffee.” Romanian returns to the kitchen, inciting him to libidinous thoughts.
-“What a woman! I need to control myself.” Lwide admires her beautiful, seductive body.
What petulance; a simple, stuck-up bodyguard trying to order me around. He’ll see his resignation letter on Monday as soon as we get back. Where have you seen him treat his mistress badly?” Romanian grumbles from the kitchen, while the vampire can hear everything clearly from the living room, laughing softly at his threat.
The package
The doorbell rings, the delivery has finally arrived. Lwide picks up the sealed thermal box and takes it to the fridge. It contains several bags of plasma. He takes it without arousing suspicion. The box has a code that only he knows. Romanian sees Lwide leave quickly, taking the box to the other apartment. She waits for him to return to make amends.
-So, you have nothing to say about your package?
-Well, I’m diabetic. If that’s of any interest to you! This box contains insulin. Do you have any more questions?” Lwide sees her countenance change rapidly.
- It’s just... I’m sorry! I shouldn’t have acted like that. I’m sorry!
- Don’t be. It’s perfectly normal for my sugar to go haywire living with you. -He laughs.
-What are you laughing at? You have na illness and you don’t care!
-It’s just na illness. I have more to worry about. For example: We should be leaving by the south road. From what I hear, the other road is blocked and we’re going to hit a major traffic jam.
-I’ll hurry. I’m sorry again!” Romanían regrets his arrogance.
During the journey to the forest reserve, Lwide drove in silence. Romanían could barely say a word because of the situation at coffee time. She put on some music to break the ice. Lwide was indifferent to her presence. But deep down, his desire was to stop the car and take her in one piece, right in the middle of the snow. His imagination turned him on at the thought of seeing her naked on the cold ice with her ardent kisses. Lwide felt uncomfortable for a moment, to the point of sniffling.
- Are you all right, Lwide? If you want, I can drive for you.
-I’m fine! Don’t worry, it was just a dry wheeze.
-Why don’t you look at me? You’re still angry!
- If I look at you, we could overturn the car. It’s very tricky to drive in this snow today.
-All right! A few kilometers to go and we’ll be there.
After half na hour on the slippery road, the reserve finally comes into view amidst the vegetation. It’s a pleasant place. Security is very tight. The huts are air-conditioned from the floor to the walls. There’s a small living room with a functional kitchen and a large bedroom with a double bed.
-So, what did you think? -Romanian asks as he takes off his boots and stares at him.
-“Quite cozy for a couple. Which we’re not. Your mother must be really worried about you.
-I have to agree. I don’t see any need for my mother to put us together. But since we’re here. We won’t die for it.
-I agree.
-Have you taken your insulin?
-Do you want to know if I’ve applied the insulin?
-“What a head of mine.” She laughs a little embarrassed.
-Don’t worry, I can take care of myself.
Lwide picks up her backpack and removes her belongings and puts them in a cupboard. Romanian is reluctant to bring up another subject because he doesn’t want to talk. She decides to do the same. She puts her clothes in the same closet. Lwide laughs without her noticing, and the two of them get so close that they touch the handle of the same drawer together. She touches his cold hand. Her gaze is lost in the vampire’s, which leaves her breathless. He is very attractive, even serious. Every gesture and expression on his face has a delicacy sculpted by the gods: manly and tempting. Romanian doesn’t know what to say. Lwide intersperses his gaze admiring her delicate pink lips like a rosebud. She smells good, he pulses between her clothes, wanting to take her in his arms and drive her up the walls. But his reason speaks louder and he looks away, letting her finish what she’s doing.
-I... I’m going for a walk. Check out the place. I won’t be long.
-Okay, I’ll be waiting for you so we can have lunch.
