A Decisive Path

While all these secret investigations were ongoing, Stella was busy in her office one afternoon, when she got caught up with the sudden and unannounced visit of Gideon, along with two other members of the management board.

They came into her office, without even greeting her, and acknowledging the fact that she is their current head and leader. Their faces showed unhappiness, and it was a deep testament of the kind of grief they have in their mind, against her.

The moment she discovered that they didn’t say a ‘hi’ to her at least, when they came into her office, she also didn't bother speaking to them. Especially, when Gideon was there.

After three minutes of them looking at her angrily without saying anything, Gideon finally spoke.

‘’We have some words for you, and I believe you would let us speak officially with you’’.

‘’Get out of my office, and don’t let me repeat myself again. All of you’’Stella backfired them, for not respecting her, when they got into her office, knowing fully well that she is their most superior. She vowed never to allow any one of them to intimidate her. No matter what.

‘’Excuse me!. We are part of your officials, and it's our official role to always engage with you’’One of the management staff said.

Stella, who was previously writing a report to the attorney, immediately stopped whatever she was doing. She raised up her head, and started to stir at all of them. Her eyes suddenly turned the color red. Veins showed up on her forehead and face, and accompanied with tears. This simply means that she was seriously boiling in her mind, and was very angry at them. She wished to back at him, but her mind wasn’t serious about it.

However, as she was just about to force words to come out from her mouth, five security guards belonging to the company immediately came into her office.

‘’Throw them out of this room’’She ordered them, since she had already given them a sign a few seconds ago, through a bell, to rush to her office.

‘’Yes ma’’They all replied. They took both Gideon and the two executive officers of the company, and rushed them out of her office. Gideon was seriously bittered. He was pathetically worried and shocked, seeing the way Stella just acted. To him, it wasn't Stella that he had ever known. However, it just came to his knowing, that Stella would inevitably war against them, and would even cause disruption against all their already laid down plans.

Two hours later, after she might have calmed down, she sent for them to come and say what they previously wished to say to her. Ofcourse, they have no other option, but to obey her callings.

‘’You guys are behaving like uncultured and unschooled individuals. Why would you come into my office in the first place, and keep quiet, looking at me?. I just want to believe that you people are not mad, and that you are actually in your right senses. Meanwhile, if any one of you, should repeat the unprofessional acts you previously displayed today, you would definitely face the repercussions of it. Do I make myself clear?’’She asked.

‘’Yes ma, we have heard you’’One of them said, after taking a few seconds to respond to her.

‘’We are sorry, madam’’One of them said again.

But Gideon, her ex-husband and the current assistant general manager, didn’t say anything. Probably, he was very angry at her, and disappointed in the way she spoke to them, the first time they came to speak with her.

Gideon communicated with one of his fellows through his fingers, and the man understood him perfectly well. It was a sign for him to proceed with their words, and that he won’t be speaking for today.

His fellow in the person of Dr.Philip, started to speak.

‘’We are actually here, to know the reasons on why you raised and implemented a first committee, without our prior knowledge. Ever since we learnt about this sudden development, we were first of all, perplexed. Thus, we don’t know why you the new general manager of this most prestigious technology in the United States, would do such a thing. Meanwhile, you don’t have to misquote or misunderstand us. We are not saying that you as the general manager, can’t raise and commission a committee. But why on Earth, would you do such a thing, without at least, involving we, your fellow executive members, and management of this company?. Does this simply means that you are intending in one way or the other, to sideline or marginalize us from gaining access into any of your policies or what?’’

‘’However, what surprises us the most, is that you went as far as commissioning the minors of this company, into such crucial roles in the company. However, it is to our deepest wish, to request for your reasons, as to this’’Dr.Philip, added.

Stella, after hearing this, became silent for some moment. Meanwhile, all eyes were just fixed on her.

‘’If this is why you individuals decided to come and ask me, it’s okay. It’s not bad at all. I have decided to raise and commission a committee, for an important task. As the new general manager of this company, it’s part of my responsibilities, to occasionally raise a committee, who would look into some certain issues of the company. It is so that we, the executive bodies of the company, won’t acquire so much power. It is also done, for the sole purpose of checks and balances. Meanwhile, in due time, I would take the sole responsibility of informing every member of the management, on the true essence and mission of those committees’’Stella said. But they were still not satisfied with her words.

They observed a minute of silence, and when they saw that she wouldn’t be speaking much with them, they kept pressing on, just to get a clue on what she was actually planning and doing with the first committee, which she recently raised and commissioned.

‘’You people should kindly go back and execute your functions, as demanded from you people, by the constitution of this company. I understand all what you are currently thinking about, and be sure that I will definitely get back to you all, as soon as possible’’Stella informed, putting on a smile on her face, for the first time, before them.
