  In this facility, I was Theo's only patient. In essence, most of the nurses here were little more than maids, and all the heavily armed guards stationed at the entrances were there to protect me. Why I needed so much protection on a remote island completely stumped me. Who in their right mind would even think of coming here to kidnap or kill me—and for what reason?   I was sure Theo had other facilities filled with actual psychiatric patients. I mean, how could the state have trusted him to admit me if he wasn't a registered hospital, right?
