Chapter Seven After a week of trying to strengthen her arms and learn to wield a sword, Shadow could have quite happily pushed the sword between Carson’s ribs, and Morell’s too. She wasn’t sure which one she’d kill first. Maybe her brother. Yes, he was the one who’d started it all. She swung at Morell and landed in the dirt as he swept her foot out from under her. Her sword went in one direction, her hat the other. Morell looked down at her with his usual expression of disgust, an expression he seemed to keep solely for her.
