Chapter 10: Nick’s Room

The Lamplighter, where Nick is staying, a large or fancy hotel, but I don't mind that. It's a roof that will have some beds under it, and that's what I need right now. I ride the elevator up to the top floor and find the number he gave me. 761. I take a deep breath. I think, I hope, this guy is on the same side as me. I don't know exactly what the sides are, or what game I've been pulled into, but I think he's on my side. It could be dangerous to let someone get too close while I'm trapped in this game, but there's also a danger in trying to do everything alone. If I'm going to survive, let alone get back at the people who killed my mother, I'll probably need help eventually. I knock on the door to Nick's room. Nick opens the door immediately. He looks, and smells, pretty much the same
