Forceful Visit.

Xavier's POV " f**k off Charlie seriously" I groaned for the seventh time this evening. I had been trying to sleep but Charlie was having none of it. He had been gnawing at me that there was a get-together going on in the next house. Something I was very much not interested in. I just wanted to sleep. " I'm not going anywhere for the last time" " Why the f**k not?" He asked " Why the hell would I go? Everyone in there are humans Charlie, humans. I can't be seen around them especially right now" I explained like he didn't know these things. " But it's your mate" " She's not my mate" I groaned rubbing my eyes tiredly. " You can deny that all you want and I'm giving you space to do the right thing don't let me force you" he growled out. " Are you threatening me?" I asked now seething with anger. " I'm not threatening you, I'm only saying that you going there when she was the one that invited you can not be that hard" " f**k go if you wanted. Leave me alone" I barked out. " I would if I f*****g could now get your ass up and move" Before I knew it, my ass was out of the sofa so fast I had whiplash. " You didn't just push me" I growled ready to attack him. " Yes I did. f**k off" " Charlie please for f**k sake, ask for something else anything that isn't this" I begged. I really didn't want to go there. I was not comfortable around humans especially not around Asteria. " I don't want something else just leave. How hard can it be?" He barked back. " Well I'm not going then" I muttered forcefully. " You know I could use force right?" Yes he really could but I didn't think he would. It's being a while that Charlie and I had an argument as this one. We never agreed on anything but it was always trade by barter, I gave him something in return for another and vice versa. However this was different. We had been arguing ever since Asteria invited me yesterday, I kept plunging promises and conditions all coming to nought. Last night was the worse. I had another one of my nightmares and Charlie thought it was necessary to bring up Asteria. To say I was beyond pissed was an understatement. I was livid which caused a heated argument between us to occur. I was in a sour mood and going for that whatever it was would just add salt to my already opened wound, but Charlie didn't care, he just wanted his so called mate. He had been raving about the color of her hair or the scent of her body or the color of her eyes. I was beyond fed up with his obsession with her. Yes I knew wolves like us ought to be obsessed with our mates but why did it have to be a human. What happened to all the wolves or witches in this f*****g world. To think I had lived for such a long time meeting several people only to be stucked with a human as my mate. A mate I didn't want. The get together was not to start for another few hours according to the time Charlie perceived it was, so I had some few moments to spare. I needed to go to the grocery because my foodstuffs were almost gone but I hated going out during the day. Not because I was scared or anything, I just had a secret I wanted buried and going out under the sunlight in the midst of people would expose me. Contrary to Charlie's opinion I could actually go whole week without eating but not with Charlie always wanting to eat everything he saw. " So you are going right?" Charlie asked " f**k off" I grunted trying to arrange the mess that was my sitting room caused by Charlie. " You know you can't be in this mood when you get there right?" " The f**k is wrong with my mood?" I barked back. " You are grumpy. You could literally break a person's bone with this look" he said " I don't give a f**k. And the bones I would very much like to break is yours" I replied without missing a beat. " Don't go and spoil the fun for them" " What did you say?" I asked giving him the opportunity to repeat the shitty thing he said. " Nothing." " Thought so". -- It was far into the time for the get together that I willed myself to stand up from the bed. Charlie didn't prob me which was a first. He knew that I was going to go any way. This was going to be the first time I was going to be in the midst of humans that wasn't grocery shopping or bank. I didn't like it one bit but obviously I had no choice. Charlie knew better than to prob me when I was the midst of people that were not my pack members. We didn't want eyes noticing us so we stayed or rather I stayed under the radar. Left to Charlie he would be seen wherever he wanted, he didn't mind. I had a lot of money so I didn't need to work, I only wished I had the ability amongst my many abilities to actually make food appear before me so I didn't have to go shopping. I took a shower washing my hair off it's stickiness, I had not washed it for days so it was bound to stick. I finished my business in the toilet, shaving my arms and legs and fixing my hair. I had not made an appearance to people in months, I had to look my best. " For someone that doesn't want to go, you sure are putting so much effort" of course Charlie would talk. " Are you not the one trying to impress your so called mate?" I retorted, shaving the little hair and stubble that had grown on my face and around my chin. " I don't need to impress her, she's already impressed by me" he refuted. " You mean by me" " Yeah, you, me, same thing" he barked. While I was growing up, my wolf had always been the most beautiful, at least that was what my mother the Luna told me. She said that while I was still a pulp, everyone wanted me around, that everyone wanted to carry me or send me on errands just so they could see me run. Even in my teenage days, alot of wolves were attracted to me, female and males alike. So I could understand what Charlie was saying. I was the only wolf to the Alpha and Luna. I didn't have no sibling. My mother said she had tried severally to have me when my dad became an Alpha and then once she had me, she no longer could bear children. My pack was the strongest and yet the most organized and United pack, so even when my mother could not bear children, her position wasn't threatened unlike the rival pack. They were always fighting for the alpha position. That was never seen amongst us so they were jealous. I had friends over at the rivalry pack but they suddenly stopped talking with me. I knew they were somewhat jealous of my pack and my wolf because I overheard them discussing about it. Despite all evil names they called to me and my pack, I still approached them as my friends only for them to turn their back on me. So since then I had stopped shifting in public places until my family was attacked and the rest is history. I willed myself to come out of my daunting thoughts and forced myself to focus on the present. Thoughts like this always crept in making me extremely sad and empty inside. Coupled with the nightmare I had occasionally, last night been one of them, I was not in my best moods. I really wished Charlie could just let me stay, but knowing him, he was bound to do something crazy. I walked into my walk-in closet and scaled through the fleets of clothes I had in there. The bad thing about living for so long was that you changed as the world changed, if the world decided to stop using shower or glass cups, no matter how much you loved them, you had to stop too. So looking at the clothes I had in here that caused millions of dollars over the years, I felt nothing as I saw them. I wanted the clothes my mother first made for me the first day she realized I could run. She was so happy that she weaved a shirt and trouser for me to change into whenever I shifted back to my human self. That was my favorite amongst the many others that she did for me. Filled with love and adoration but I lost them during the invasion. I lost everything. I decided on a dark blue buttoned down t-shirt with white strips on it and cream pants. With the few buttons unbuttoned, a chain necklace on my neck and a wristwatch and some bracelets on my wrist, my dangling ear ring on one ear and some rings on my fingers, I was ready to go. " You look good" " f**k off" " You know what to do when you get there right?" Charlie asked. " What do you mean?" I threw back. " I mean, try not to be grumpy alright?" " You are talking like you won't be there with me" " Yes but I can't make any sound, so I'm not there" he said like I was supposed to know that. " you can make a sound if you want" I replied, knowing fully well he would refuse. "No. I can't, I don't want my mate to be embarrassed" " She's not your ----" I pinched the bridge of my nose in frustration, giving up on talking with him. I was already out of my house when I had series of laughter coming from Asteria's. I used my ability to shut her out so that I would not hear anything as I was in my own flat. Taking deep breaths I prepared myself for what and whoever I was going to see behind the door. After much preparation, I was ready. I rang the doorbell.
