Acceptance.

Asteria's POV.

Getting to the door, I froze. I could not go as further as prying it open.

Two things were on my mind: what if he wasn't the one? I wasn't set for another disappointment, but then what if he was, then what?

All these and more kept swirling in my mind it made me freeze and wonder what I was going to do.

Lost in my thoughts, Mandy passed me in a flash and before I could tell her not to open the door, the door was pulled open.

My eyes shut so tightly in fright not ready to see whoever was behind it.

" Holy f**k"

"Mother of my f*****g p***y"

It was Mandy and Lara that exclaimed in unison, I knew because they were the only one that could say something like that amongst us.

Suddenly there was a tap on my shoulder.

" You may need to open your eyes for this one doll"

Slowly but surely, I pried my eyes open, squinting it lightly to adjust to the light from my door still been opened. There he stood following his name and even more.

This was the first time I saw him dressed up and I could see why Mandy and Lara exclaimed that way.

He looked beautiful as usual, but right now, he looked extremely sexy, I felt my knees buckle from under me.

" H--- Hi" I breathed out.

" You came" I continued, pushing Mandy lightly as I made a bee line for the door.

" I did. Did I come at a bad time?" He voiced out making Lara let out a hiss.

I almost smirked at their reactions, especially at Mandy. A glance at her and she was literally speechless. She had not stopped eye f*****g beautiful boy and her mouth were still opened slightly as she just stood to watch. I glanced over Lara and the look on her face was similar to that of Mandy. Sarah and Claire had a strange yet admirable look on their face.

And Landon; well, he kept assessing beautiful boy as he squinted his eye slightly trying to figure him out.

I looked back at beautiful boy and every time I did, my breath hanged in my throat. He was breathtaking.

" No. You came at the right time. Come in"

Beautiful boy strolled into my home majestically like he owned the place. As he passed me briefly I realized how tall he was, his big self occupying my smaller apartment.

Lara jumped forward almost tripping Landon over as she made her way to stand before beautiful boy.

" Hi hot stuff. I'm Lara" she greeted, smiling sheepishly it brought a scoff out of my mouth. Beautiful boy stared at her and at her hand just like he did mine, and it must have registered to him that he was in the midst of people before he forcefully took her hand in his, smirking lightly.

" Nice to meet you" he simply said. No names no nothing.

" Yeah. So what's your name sexy?" She continued, their hands still joined together. My brows furrowed, not liking Lara's attitude, but I expected this from her, why was I still angry though.

I didn't need to interfere because Mandy did it for me.

" Lara put your horny ass down and don't make out guest uncomfortable" she screeched going to remove Lara's hand from beautiful boy's who had been struggling to release his hand from Lara's tight grip.

Lara eyed Mandy in disgust as she huffed and sat down.

" Asteria honey, introduce us to your guest" Claire said eyeing me suspiciously.

" Uhmm. This--- this is my neighbor, err, his name is---"

" Xavier. I'm Xavier" he replied, his gaze lingering on everyone's face. He must be an eye contact kind of person.

My eyes shoot up to him in surprise, hearing his name for the first time too. Even his name was beautiful. He seemed to have a bit of an accent especially when calling his name, I didn't know what the accent was, but it was extremely hot.

" Yeah Xavier" I breathed out testing the name on my tongue. Xavier's eyes shoot to me, our gaze lingering on each other and I had to hold my breath at his piercing gaze.

God, control yourself Aster.

" So shall we continue? Xavier nice to meet you. I'm Mandy, your beautiful neighbor's best friend, this are Sarah and Claire, they are in a relationship, this is Lara and Landon, they are twins and of course you've met Asteria"

God bless Mandy. I really wondered how I was going to do all these introductions by myself. I wished I was as graceful as she was, but right now I was a shaking mess. Pathetic really.

" Hi again" Lara greeted.

Sarah and Claire simply whispered a 'nice to meet you' to Xavier as he nodded his head at them.

However Landon was yet to say anything and simply watched him. Xavier turned to look at him too as they started a staring match.

Men and competition.

The whole atmosphere became tense as we simply stood watching them. Xavier was taller than Landon by few inches and he had more muscles. I looked at Mandy again for help because I didn't know what to do. Mandy immediately coming to the rescue as always.

" Guyyysss. Hello?" She drawled making both Xavier and Landon release their gaze from each other.

" Great. Are we expecting more 'beautiful people?" Mandy whispered the last phrase to me as I smiled and shook my head.

" Right. So can we start?" She said clapping her hands together as she looked at me and I knew the look she was giving me was that I had a lot of explanation to do.

I was indeed f****d.

Lara had not allowed beautiful.... I mean Xavier to rest.

She was always clinging and wanting to be in his space. Now we were all sat round my table casually conversing with drinks in our fronts.

I was sat in between Mandy and Landon opposite Xavier on the other side. I had been glancing at him every now and then surprised that he was here and he actually came. Our eyes met occasionally, his intense gaze making me drop my own gaze.

" I don't feel comfortable with this guy" Landon whispered beside me. I removed my eyes from where I was avoiding Xavier's on my lap and stared up at Landon whose gaze remained fixed on Xavier.

"Why?" I asked surprised at his outburst.

" I just find him weird" was all he said. I looked back to Xavier and my heart skipped in my chest to find his gaze already on me.

If there was anything weird about him it was his beauty.

" So who wants to play kiss and blow?" Lara suggested.

" C'monnnnnn, are we kids?" Claired whined making the rest of us laugh.

" C'mon, it will be fun" she refuted.

" Or you just want to kiss Xavier by your side" Mandy said.

My eyes shoot up at this having not even noticed that was her intention.

Please let him not agree to play.

"Xaviee what do you think?"

Xaviee? Xaviee? You've got to be f*****g with me. Lara was really getting on my nerves.

" Sure" he replied, staring at me

Ouch. Seems he wants to kiss her too. My f*****g subconscious.

Shut up.

" Yesss. We can start. We all know the rules of the game right? With a paper on your lip, you pass the paper to the next person and if the paper falls, you have to kiss him or her" Lara explained excitedly.

" Let's start already Lara" Landon scolded his sister.

I was very uncomfortable all of a sudden.

The game started with Sarah as she passed it her girlfriend, who in turn passed it to Mandy and from Mandy to me. It was my turn to pass to Landon but unfortunately the paper fell of before it got to his lip.

" Oops" Lara replied.

My eyes widened slightly as they stared at Landon's excited ones.

" You know what to doooooo" Lara drawled.

My heartbeat thumped faster as Landon leaned in, my cheeks flushing.

Landon kept moving in slowly making me more nervous. I had never objected to Landon's flirtatious, he was really attractive but I suddenly felt nervous and I knew why.

Xavier was just sitting across from me.

Any other day, kissing Landon would not be anything to me, I would have initiated it myself but I felt like I was doing something wrong today. However I could not stop it, what's excuse would I give for not kissing him.

Landon was very close now and if he moved any closer, our lips would touch.

"Bang" my eyes moved in fright to the sound

" So--sorry. There was an insect on my cup" Xavier replied.

I continued to stare at him long forgetting that I was supposed to kiss Landon.

I could not help but think something else.

Did he try to stop....? No, it can't be. He's not attracted to me like that.

I felt another gaze on me and I knew it was Mandy, I looked at her and she winked at me. She must have thought the same thing which was ridiculous. It could not be possible.

" Okay. Let's try it again" Mandy broke the awkwardness gracefully.

The game continued and this time the piece of paper didn't fall from my mouth on getting to Landon's, however they did fall from Xavier's mouth to get to Lara, something she was most definitely excited about.

Xavier seemed unperturbed by it making my heart sink in my chest. Lara moved in and pecked his lips smiling as she released him.

I sunk into my seat in defeat, my eyes feeling heavy as I stared at the ground. I wondered why I was feeling this way towards Xavier. I knew already that I had a crush on him but this was getting pathetic. He didn't even look at me after he and Lara had separated from their kiss, the smirk on his handsome face told me he enjoyed it.

Of course he would enjoy it, Lara was beautiful and she knew how to get what she wanted. I on the other hand has always been scared to go for what I wanted. I was never shy or one to back down but this was different, as much as I was attracted to Xavier in many ways than one, I had to protect my heart.

Jude ruined it together with my body and I had a feeling that Xavier will ruin my heart even more.

Maybe it was too late.
