I’m more than relieved when we’re all finally sitting on a bus, driving the hell out of Cincinnati. I turn to look over my shoulder, checking on the sad little group. Sheila isn’t sobbing anymore, but she doesn’t look any better. Her eyes are wide and empty, like there’s only her shell left. The boys look much better than her, but they’re still desperate. I can see that. I turn back around, shaking my head at their stupidity. I don’t understand why they had to do this to themselves. Couldn’t they have waited for Killian’s pack to investigate or let our authorities handle the matter? I’m sure they would come up with the same conclusion as I have. Maybe they could even locate him, not just find his cracked phone underneath that car. I watch the world behind the window darkening as the sun
