Diletta got pregnant with David at only seventeen. Hers was a broken adolescence and she never knew the light-heartedness twentysomethings experience: it was as if many steps on the ladder of her life were wiped out. Not even for a moment did she consider resorting to an abortion as her parents would’ve preferred and, in a short while, she thus found herself fully immersed in the exclusive, all-encompassing rôle of motherhood.
