Andrea looks at his watch. It’s two in the afternoon and time to go! He goes down with Diletta’s laptop under his arm and puts in the boot. He’ll give it her tomorrow. He starts the car back up, then drives for roughly half an hour to head towards a complex of buildings where, suddenly, an uninterrupted flow of people and cars seems to crop up on the spot. He moves towards a barrier that goes up and down every few seconds. It’s as if it’s the piston on an internal combustion engine. He lowers the car window and leans out to withdraw the ticket from the machine on his left. The barrier is raised and Andrea slowly follows the cars in front of him to enter the lively citadel. All the buildings are new, with huge tinted windows. They’re surrounded by green, well-kept and tree-shaded
