Less than a year earlier
Every day at the same time, ─ quarter-to-seven in the morning ─ Bianca Martina comes down to the newsstand, not far from where her digs are, to buy the paper. She buys a daily from the North East of Italy, wanting to stay informed as to what’s happening in Veneto, the region in which she now lives.
Although she is a digital native, having grown up in the time of the Internet and mobile phones, she doesn’t like reading online. She doesn’t like reading books or newspapers, either. She uses the Web a lot, it being a mine of information for her research; she can find interesting articles there and communicate with many other people. When she wants to read something out of pure pleasure, however, she prefers to see hard copy.
