*** When I arrived at the bottom of the stairs, Pimm flicked another switch. The light revealed a large storeroom with steel shelving units containing cardboard boxes lining three of the walls. At the opposite end of the room was a steel door with a numbered keypad instead of a key lock. I had half expected to find an old-fashioned dungeon door, the kind that was unlocked with a massive brass key. But this room, unlike the shop above, was neatly organized and spotless, so it clearly wasn't a classical interpretation of a dungeon. "What's behind the door?" I asked.
