Lucy, a pretty, slender girl in her late teens, stood in the middle of the large, bright, country kitchen leaning on her broom, worrying about Tom, her brother. She hadn’t seen him in a very long time, and then it had been only a very short visit.
They lived in the little village of Squamish, which lies in the shadow of the Pacific Coast Range, just outside Vancouver, British Columbia. A very small town that lots of people passed by on the Sea to Sky Highway on their way to the resort town of Whistler, but few ever stopped.
