In the subdued lighting of the Rum Runner’s Lounge, Lonnie gazed at the headless beer in residence at the bottom of his glass. He stared at it, fascinated how the soft lighting made it seem to glow with an inner light. His tux may reek of smoke, but the only odor Lonnie could detect was coming from the warm barley sitting in front of him. It smelled stale.
