Random man in the crowd :
"We no longer want to have anything to do with you! You bunch are just a group of corrupted hypocrites defiling the name of Christ!"
Random man in the crowd :
"Why are you sowing hatred among us!? What would that achieve?!!!"
Amid the shouting match between the two groups, a mug unexpectedly gets thrown in the direction of Skylah's face. Before the mug hits, the acceleration of the mug gets slowed down by Julianna into a wobbly state before it hits Skylah's nose, having its beer splashed all over his face.
Skylah :
"Your mass changing powers on the beer….. I guess this makes it a..... light beer?"
Julianna ignores Skylah's joke with an infuriating set of eyes fixed on the group, seemingly to identify the person who threw the mug at Skylah. She picks up the empty mug on the floor, imbues it with her powers, and throws it at her target with anger.
The mug flies in a spinning fashion and lands on a man's face in the right crowd before shattering into pieces. A loud thud fills the room as the man falls unconscious onto the ground, causing an uneasy silence that lasts for 2 seconds before the two groups rush towards each other into a classic tavern brawl.
Skylah :
"Wow. You started this brawl."
Julianna :
"What? No… I mean Yes… Crap! What should I do? Let me stop them!"
Julianna steps into the messy tavern brawl and slaps one man at a time, causing them to fall one by one, each holding their own red swelling cheek in shock at what befell them.
As Julianna is about to strike her 5th slap onto a frightened man's cheek, Skylah climbs on top of his table.
Skylah :
"PRAISE THE LORD! This! This is God's work!"
The group of angry brawlers turns from chaotic fury into confusion as they all turn their heads and look at Skylah.
Julianna, still grabbing onto the 5th man's shirt with her left hand while her right palm is high up in the air, looks at Skylah with an equally perplexed expression.
Skylah :
"Pardon me guys, but this is just so beautiful! It's like watching the Lord's work."
Random man in the crowd :
"What are you talking about? We're literally fighting!"
Skylah :
"Sorry, I'm just so new to this. My friend took me to church last week and I was given a bible to read. I'm still at Genesis, by the way. BUT, what you guys are doing, this is like a re-enactment of the Tower of Babel!"
The commotion in the crowd grew loud again, but this time, more in sync with one another, with all their anger directed at Skylah.
Random man in the crowd :
"How dare you compare us to the Tower of Babel? We're not trying to defy God. We are fighting for what is right!"
Skylah :
"Again, I'm sorry, mister. I'm totally new to this! BUT, I thought that the reason the tower was built was so that it could purportedly reach heaven. All of them wanted to reach closer to God, just like you guys!
You guys don't see the similarities here?"
Random man in the crowd :
"Of course not! They were doing it to build a name for themselves and were punished by God for it.
We are fighting for what is right. It's absolutely different!"
Skylah :
"Hold on, what makes you think that separating them, scattering them, and giving them different languages are punishments from God?"
The commotion went from an angry riot to a conceded discussion among the crowd.
Random man in the crowd :
"Well… God didn't allow them to finish the tower they wanted to build."
Skylah :
"Instead of one measly tower, God scattered them all over the entire earth, building cities and towns instead. That sure doesn't sound like a punishment to me."
The angry vibe dissipated from the crowd as some even nodded their heads in agreement with Skylah.
Random man in the crowd :
"That means diverging from the Catholics is the right thing to do!"
Random man in the crowd :
"Of course not! 1 Corinthians 1:10 says that there shall be no divisions and we should all be perfectly united in mind and thought!"
Skylah :
"My dear friends…. unity and uniformity are two very different things.
Just like in the Tower of Babel, do you think God was dividing them or multiplying them?"
Random man in the crowd :
"So… we just let anyone who desires to leave the Church do so?"
Skylah :
"A minute ago you guys were offended that I compared you to the Tower of Babel.
Now you're not even confident that if you guys were to diverge, you would do worse than them? That it would be a division instead of multiplication?"
The crowd looks at one another, somewhat awkwardly, before they help each other up to their feet, including those who are still in a daze on the ground being slapped by Julianna.
Skylah steps down from the table as John and Julianna walk towards him to regroup.
Skylah :
"That, Julianna, is how you stop a brawl."
Julianna frowns in concession, reluctantly acknowledging that she did something silly.
