NATALIA The room was quiet after everyone left. The door clicked shut and the only sound left was the beeping of the machine next to my bed. I lay there staring at the white ceiling, my left arm throbbing under the bandage. The pain was not as sharp as before, but it was still there, reminding me of everything that had happened - the ice cream shop, the loud bang, Wesley’s arms around me, and the blood.
