It felt like my whole world had fallen apart in a single second. One moment we were sitting together, laughing over ice cream, talking about small things that made her smile. The next moment, a loud gunshot ripped through the air. People screamed and started running in every direction. I grabbed Natalia’s hand fast, trying to pull her to safety. But she did not move. Her body went heavy against me. I looked down and saw blood on her arm. My heart stopped.
