WESLEY The plane engines echoed beneath me as we climbed higher into the sky. I sat by the window, staring out at the disappearing lights of the city below. Everything I knew, everything I had built, was getting smaller with every second. I had turned off my phone completely before boarding. No calls, no messages and no way for anyone to reach me. I wanted silence. I wanted to feed the anger burning inside my chest until it swallowed everything else. The shock from the hospital still felt like a heavy rock on my chest but I refused to let it turn into sadness. The anger I felt was better, it was safer and it gave me something to hold onto.
