Chapter 2

208 Words
I enter my office full of bustling bees, my legs walking on their own to reach my desk. "Good morning, detective!" "Such a lovely day, don't you think?" "Good morning, sir!" I hear the cheerful greetings from my team of early birds, unaware of the horrific scene I just saw on my way here. I don't even know who said what. Did someone ask me a question? Do I think it is such a lovely day? Such a lovely day, indeed! Well, maybe to some people! Good morning?! Is it? Not for the fair lady, it isn't! I can't even answer them! I hear them, but they sound so far away. Like they are coming from a different dimension. One where the fair lady still lives, shining with a bright smile and a lively face. I hear them, while I am drowning in my thoughts, stuck on that street, with that fair lady. I don't even know her name! Who is she? Does she have a family? Maybe kids? What brought her here? Was she killed? Perhaps she took her life! What was her life like? Where should I start? I gathered my cherry-picked team of crime scene investigators and filled them in. And here the story begins.
