Sarah couldn’t stop smiling.
Ever since she and Samuel made things official, everything felt lighter, happier… almost like a dream she didn’t want to wake up from.
One morning at school, Samuel walked up to her with a small, nervous smile.
“Hey,” he said. “Are you free this weekend?”
Sarah raised an eyebrow playfully. “Maybe… why?”
Samuel took a deep breath. “I was thinking we could go out. Like… a real date.”
Sarah felt her heart start racing again, that same familiar feeling she had from the very beginning.
“I’d like that,” she said softly.
Saturday came faster than she expected.
Sarah stood in front of her mirror, trying to decide what to wear. She changed outfits more times than she could count, her heart beating faster with every passing minute.
“Why am I so nervous?” she whispered to herself.
When she finally stepped outside and saw Samuel waiting for her, all her nervousness faded for a moment.
“Wow,” Samuel said, smiling. “You look… really nice.”
Sarah felt her cheeks warm. “Thank you. You don’t look too bad yourself.”
They both laughed, the tension easing instantly.
Samuel had planned something simple—a walk through a nearby park, followed by ice cream. It wasn’t fancy, but to Sarah, it felt perfect.
They talked, laughed, and teased each other the entire time. At one point, Samuel tried to tell a joke and messed it up completely, making Sarah laugh even harder.
“Okay, okay, I’m not that funny,” he admitted.
“You’re trying,” Sarah said, still laughing. “That’s what counts.”
As the sun began to set, they sat quietly on a bench, enjoying the peaceful moment.
For once, Sarah didn’t feel the need to fill the silence.
Samuel looked at her. “I’m really glad I asked you out.”
Sarah smiled softly. “Me too.”
There was a pause… a quiet, meaningful one.
Then Samuel gently reached for her hand, just like before—but this time, he held it a little tighter.
Sarah’s heart beat faster, but she didn’t look away.
Instead, she moved a little closer.
And in that soft, golden moment, surrounded by laughter and quiet feelings, Sarah knew one thing for sure—
This was only the beginning of their story....
