The Frist Look - Part 1

331 Words
It was a quiet morning at school when Sarah walked into her classroom. As she took her seat, she glanced up—and that’s when she saw him. Samuel was sitting a few desks away, looking out the window. For a brief moment, their eyes met. Sarah quickly looked down at her desk, her heart beating fast. She didn’t know why, but something about that moment made her feel nervous and excited at the same time. The next day, it happened again. She walked into class, and once more, their eyes met. This time, Samuel gave a small smile before looking away. Sarah felt her cheeks get warm, and her heart started beating even faster. “Why do I feel like this?” she thought to herself. Days passed, and the silent eye contact became something they both seemed to expect. Neither of them spoke, but the connection was there—quiet, but real. Sarah wanted to talk to him, but she was too shy. Every time she thought about it, her heart would race, and her mind would go blank. One afternoon, she finally decided to be brave. She walked up to Samuel after class, trying to stay calm even though her heart was pounding in her chest. “Um… hi,” she said softly. “Do you understand the homework from today?” Samuel looked at her and smiled warmly. “Yeah, I do. Do you need help?” Sarah nodded, even though she already understood it. “A little,” she said, trying not to smile too much. They sat down together, and as Samuel explained the work, Sarah realized she wasn’t nervous anymore. Instead, she felt comfortable… happy. From that day on, they started talking more—about school, about life, and even about their dreams. What started with just a simple look and a racing heart slowly turned into something neither of them expected. And all because of one small moment… when their eyes first met.
