1ST ACT: THE SEVENTH CHILD

"HOW'S EVERYTHING?" Raeniel looked over to find their Founder entering the control room. He was referring to their team leader who recklessly went out on his own for a mission. Raen scowled before answering. "I didn't find him. I hate how sneaky that bastard is." Pete shook his head. "That boy, always going out on his own," Pete muttered as they both scanned the screens in front of them. "Sometimes, I want to beat the crap out of that conceited lad." Raen laughed at the empty threat. "That is before he beats the crap out of you first." "Bragging about your youth, eh?" Pete laughed as he jokingly flexed his muscles. "I taught you all your moves. Last time I checked, I am still the unbeatable one here." "What do you need from our Captain, anyway?" Raen asked. "Nothing, really." The man said. Not giving anything away. Raen eyed the man suspiciously. "I haven't seen him for two days now." He mentioned while scanning the monitors in front of him uninterestedly. "Probably went to visit his non-angelic girlfriend." "Who? That Gaiel?" Pete let out a loud sigh. "No girl will be able to tolerate his overbearingness. Probably another of his DIY missions." Raen just motioned his head in agreement. Knowing that person, he'll go wherever his instincts tell him to. "I think he got a lead this time." Their leader just scratched his head out of frustration. Raen didn't have to explain more. Pete had an idea already. "Well, dear boy. You had better prepare the reports for this one." "I know. I know." Raen muttered. As second in command within their rank, it was his job. Knowing their Captain, he wouldn't bother having to create such reports. "The Council will never tolerate such actions," Pete asserted. He didn't sound so concerned, though. Well, he was their organization's leader. He might be able to twist strings around however, he might never hear the end of it. Pete is the leader of the 57th generation of their kind. He was in his early forties yet he still looked a bit younger for his age. He was a bulky man with a height to match. One of the most powerful of their kind. No one would question Pete's leadership skills and wisdom in fights. Pete was both a hero and a father to him and his comrades. They are both members of an organization that has existed for eons. What they are is still unknown to most of humanity, but to those who were involved with them, they were either called the Watchers or the Nephilims. Beings whose ancestry came from the Divine Plane. Most of their kind are born from Rebel Angels who were sentenced to Earth after the Great Holy War on the Divine plane. It was the path to redemption for the rebel angels. However, unlike what is commonly known to human knowledge, their ancestors were given a physical body to exist within the Physical plane while their consciousness and abilities as angels are retained. A body of a mortal with the powers of an angelic being. Some of their kind helped build human society. Using their angelic abilities to aid the still developing race. And with the advancement of human society, their race also increased in numbers. While others existed for benevolent purposes, some still chose the sinister way of living. They lurk in the dark, preying on human souls to sacrifice to Hell, which will help bring forth another Armageddon. These creatures existed for the sole purpose of making humanity suffer. Just what Lucifer had promised he would do. That is how the Organization was built. They had protected and tried to maintain peace with all living creatures on the seven planes. Their kind lived alongside humanity for eons as they guard the Astral Plain and prevent escapees from the Forgotten and Forsaken Planes from entering the Physical Plane, where humans live. Beings willing to scour the darkness as mortals enjoy the light of day. However, even with so much effort exerted on their part, some of those creatures are able to enter the Physical plane undetected. Souls are still being sent to Hell to fuel Lucifer's force in weakening the Seal of the Serpent's cage. And as a countermeasure, they go out on mission hunting demons and the like to maintain peace and to foil Lucifer's plan. "That bastard, when will he ever listen?" Pete was scratching his head in annoyance. "He could've talked to us if he got leads for the last one. The Council is going to keep pestering me with this." "It's because you're too lenient, Pete," Raen reasoned out. " Besides, Gaiel would handle things on his own first just to make sure the lead he got was right." Aside from the fact that Gaiel didn't trust anyone but him in any information regarding the last descendant. Also, he wasn't a bit worried. Raen trusted their captain's ability. That man might seem reckless and foolish at times, yet he has a way of handling the situation to achieve his desired results. Besides, Raen and the others would instantly come to help once their needed. "Reckless, lad," Pete spat out. "Brave yet foolish," he said as he folded his arms. "Just make sure his lead is right. I don't want to clean another mess from his actions." Raen let out a dry laugh. He remembered the scoldings and dreadful reports he had to endure before. "Anyway, we're talking about Gaiel here. He won't fail us." Pete smirked. "You're right, kiddo." The man muttered as he inspected folders of suspected individuals. "That Gaiel," Raen started. "Ever since he told me that vision, he hasn't stopped working here." Raen reached out to one of the folders in front of him. "Constantly searching for that last chosen one. I'm happy he has got the lead now. He seemed to be on the right trail now." Raen even helped screen some of the footage they have gathered worldwide. Each day, he and Gaiel would stay in the control room reviewing countless footage for hours. However, most of what they found were a bunch of hoaxes. Especially now after the boom of the social media industry. "Do you have any idea where he could be?" Pete asked. "Did Gaiel tell you?" "No. If he did, we wouldn't be having such a conversation now. He grimaced. "Not a single one here led me to find the last descendant." Giving his failed subjects a longing glance. "This set of individuals seemed special but not in that sense." He returned the folder he was previously holding. Pete nodded. "If that is the case, we just have to start over again. We will not stop until we find the seventh," he said with confidence. "This hide and seek game is so frustrating." He hissed. "How many times do we have to fail just to find that single individual?" They had been looking everywhere for the last one. It had been seven years since the 6th member was found, yet the only clue they've got was that the last descendant is in the Philippines. As to why or what reason the Seventh was hiding is still unknown. It was either he hasn't awakened yet. Their fathers all led them to the Organization as soon as they awaken their powers. Gaiel and Raen were the first destined children found by the Organization and afterward, they dedicated their time to training and finding the others. This was all part of a Divine plan and if Armageddon happens soon, they will be Humanity's last hope. "This shouldn't surprise you," Pete said with a low voice. "Seven very important individuals born on this vast planet. What do you expect? We did fail several times, but did we stop?" He shook his head. "This just means we have another reason to find him. Every failure, every mistake will lead us to the right path. Have more faith." He said as he gave the screens one final look. "We just have to move forward and keep looking. That's our only choice." "How optimistic of you," Raen sarcastically retorted. "Almost seven years, Pete. We still haven't made a single piece of progress. This person might be concealing his angelic powers so that no one will be able to detect him." Raen had to give it to him. "Smart bastard." "Raen, my boy." The man gave him a not-so-gentle nudge. "I believe we'll be able to find him sooner than you expect. Who knows? Gaiel is already tracking him down." Raen gave a dry laugh. "I just wish I could find him before Gaiel does. If our boy is indeed on the right track, he might not be able to give that person a very nice, warm welcome." Just thinking of it gave Raen a headache. He was tired and in a desperate need for sleep. Being inside that control room, exposed to radiation for more than thirty-six hours made him crave for his bed. "You know what, Raen," Pete mentioned. "This concern about the Seventh Child is making you guys look stressed. I feel like I look even younger between you and Gaiel." Raen gave their leader a boring look. "Dream on, Pete." "By the way, with the exception of little Hadiel and Gaiel, where are the others?" Pete seemed to have noticed that the others were gone as well. "Out on a mission," He answered. "I am not sure why, but the Astral Plane seemed to be too jumpy these past few days." He can't quite put his finger on it, but it seems something definitely sinister is being orchestrated from under their noses. "Jumpy?" Pete asked confusedly. "What do you mean?" "You too must have felt it. The Astral plane is becoming quite unstable. We noticed a huge number of demonic activities all happening within this month. Some even reach the Physical plane." "Hmmm." Pete looked at him. "The Scourge had reported these matters earlier. But we are still investigating this." Unlike the other watchers who had to spend years of practice for intense concentration to determine fluctuations within the other planes, the six of them could detect even the slightest ripple. And if they concentrate hard enough, they can even connect to beings from the deepest parts of the planes of existence. "Gaiel probably thinks this has something to do with the Seventh," Raen mentioned, clenching his hands tightly. As soon as the thought finally dawned on Pete, their leader muttered a curse. It made Raeniel wince. They were in big trouble. "That Gaiel. What the hell is he thinking?" Lucifer might have the lead towards finding the Seventh. They need to back their Captain up. He might be in big trouble now.
