Today was the day of the party, and Young Alpha Nate told her she was no longer allowed to serve at the party. "We are trying to make a good impression," he had sneered at her. She was a little disappointed, she had worked so hard setting everything up and was excited to see it with the lights turned on.
She had just bowed her head and said, "as you wish, Young Alpha."

She wasn't sure what to do with herself now. She was in her shack, but she felt so restless. She really just wanted to see the lights, and walk around on this beautiful night.
After pacing around for a few hours, she decided to risk it. She wasn't daring enough to go to the actual party of course; but she could go to the gardens, and from there she should be able to see.
Nodding to herself, she put on the darkest clothes she had. They were worn thin, but at least they'd help her blend into the night. Of course they could still smell her, but she was hoping there would be to many scents at the party to notice hers.
Katrina made it into the garden on the far side of the pack house. It wrapped around the side to the back where the party was being held. She had almost made it around the corner when someone grabbed her. They slammed her back against the trunk of the tree.
"Mate," the man holding me said. He had his face in my neck, smelling me. The word made her horrified. Absolutely not.
Katrina put her hands up against his chest, ignoring the warmth that spread through her at his touch. She knew she couldn't physically move him if he wanted to stay. He seemed to understand, and pulled back a few inches. She stayed trapped between his arms, her body shaking lightly as the stream of emotions hit her. Fear, panic, hatred and surprising even her, longing.
"Please listen to me, please." Katrina whispered, keeping her hand against his chest; both loving and hating the feeling. "I am not your mate, I can't be. I'm just a human, please don't do this to me." Her fear was real. 'Would he kill me when he realized his goddesses mistake?' she thought.
He just continued to look at her, taking in every inch of her face. His hand moved to her face, his thumb rubbing over her lips as he stared at her. "You're beautiful," he whispered.
Katrina let out a frustrated groan, he wasn't listening to her. She tried pushing him farther away, but he ignored it and continued to stare at her. The heat coming from his hands was distracting her, and the smell coming off his skin made her feel weak. He smelled like apples and pine needles, reminding her of winter festivals.
Suddenly his eyes clouded over and I knew he was mind linking someone. 'No no no, god don't let anyone see him touching me' Katrina thought in mental anguish. Surely there was a rule against this and she would be punished.
She began struggling in earnest, and that seemed to be the first time he realized she didn't like this.
"Hey, hey it's okay baby. I'm not going to do anything, you're safe." He said, his voice sounded so deep, it weirdly made her feel safe. That freaked her out even more, wolves were not safe. None of them were.
"Please, just let me go," she whimpered. She wasn't able to hold back her fear any longer. This man was a complete stranger to her, she had no idea what he was capable of.
He pulled away from her, but grabbed her hand. "We need to talk, but I need to make an appearance at the party first." Turning around as another man walked into view. He was also a stranger to her. "Baby, this is my Gamma Tyler. Tyler, please take her to our room and do not take your eyes off of her."
The man, Tyler, walked up to her. "Of course, Alpha." Then he turned to Katrina and offered his arm. She really didn't want to do this, but what choice did she have.
She accepted his arm, and followed him. However, the moment he began leading her to the pack house she resisted. Tyler pulled on her arm a bit, not enough to hurt her but enough to pull her a few more steps. He stopped after that and looked down at her.
Katrina immediately dropped her gaze before saying. "I am sorry Gamma Tyler, but I am not allowed inside pack house walls without cause."
He shrugged, "You have cause, and no one would dare defy my Alpha's orders. Not if they want to survive the day," he chuckled as he said the last part.
Katrinas' heart froze at the threat before restarting at twice it's usual speed. 'Why me?' She groaned to herself. She was going to be punished and it wasn't even her fault.
