Cole's POV
He stood, watching Xavier sleep. He had gotten him to sleep about an hour ago, but he was having a hard time leaving him. He looked so much like his mother that it hurt. Still, having him around had helped ease some of the pain he felt in his heart.
Something has felt wrong all day, but he couldn't figure out what it was. Some sixth sense that raised the hair on his arm. He didn't think it was coming from his bone with Katrina. He had felt some pain earlier in the day, but he mostly just felt her worry through the bond.
He heard Ellen walk up behind him and knew he needed to talk to her. He just didn't want to. He was feeling helpless at this point. He was no closer to Katrina, and even though they were searching for any reason to arrest Crystal, he had nothing.
