Alpha Cole POV
Zane ripped forward the moment she was out of Coles sight. The bandages on his mates back had covered the recent hurts, even though he'd been able to see the blood beginning to soak through. It was the scars around the bandages that made it even worse. This was a common occurrence. This piece of s*** pack abused his mate for years and now she hated him. Cole hadn't even done anything and she hated him. And who could blame her? She suffered at the hands of his people.
Zane tore through the woods, mind linking his beta and gamma to pack their bags, get the car ready and be ready to leave. They didn't question him, which was smart.
Zane slowed down as they approached his mates home. 'She lives in a shack?!' Zane howls at me, staring at the dilapidated little building. The more they saw, the angrier they were.
'We just need mate to understand.' Zane whined staring at the house, waiting.
'I know buddy, she will eventually. this is just going to take some time.' Cole said back, wishing he had found her in a better pack. 'I wonder how she even came here?' Cole wondered. This pack wasn't known for having any relationships with humans.
Zane just whimpered again, he wanted to see her safe and okay; but he also wanted to rip apart everyone who had ever touched her. She looked so sweet and innocent, who could ever strike someone so much smaller than us.
Cole was surprised that Zane's need to check on his mate outweighed his need to get revenge. Zane responded with a snappy, 'she has to come first now.'
They watched as she opened her door, flashed her light around, and slipped out. 'Oh my Goddess! She's leaving us!' Cole cried out, taking control of their body again. There would be no reasoning with her while he was a wolf. He didn't have clothes but he really didn't care. He rushed over to her, grabbing onto her before she made it five steps from the door.
He spun her around, lifting her face up so that he could see it. It was like seeing daylight after years in the dark; even if she was glaring at him.
Before he could say anything to her, she spoke. "I didn't want to have to do this, I was hoping you would just let me leave. But fine, here it goes." Still staring me in the eyes she continues. "I, Katrina, Slave of the Red Creek Pack, Reject you Alpha-" she paused for a moment. "What's your name Alpha?"
He didn't respond immediately, both him and Zane were screaming on the inside. 'Did she just say slave? Slave! Why is she doing this?' Zane cried.
"It's Cole," He whispers. "But I don't accept your rejection. I was meant for you, and you for me. Do you not feel the bond?" He asked, although he didn't know what he would do if she said no.
For a minute he worried she would say nothing at all, but finally she relented. "I won't lie and say I feel no attraction to you, but I don't want this and neither do you."
Cole growled at her words. "You keep telling me what I do and don't want. Listen to me you beautiful woman, I want you, all of you. I will follow you around until the breath leaves my lungs if that's what it takes. I just want a chance to prove myself to you." She blushed a beautiful shade of red at his words.
Tucking a strand of hair behind her head he went on, "please, just come back to my pack. Give me a chance to prove myself, and at the very least you'll be able to leave this place behind."
She stared off for a moment, as if in a far away place before looking him in the eyes again. "I will leave with you, if I'm allowed, but please don't ask anything else of me. At least for the time being Alpha Cole."
He couldn't help the smile that spread across his face. She might not accept him, but he would prove himself worthy of her. His heart still hurt for her and her misfortune, but he would do absolutely everything to make sure her future was perfect.
"Please, just call me Cole, and I shall call you Katrina, or whatever pet name that feels right." He joked.
Katrina looked up at him, her tiny body was so close he wanted to reach out and wrap her up. Finally she smiled up at him, wrapping her tiny little fingers around the hand he had on her face. "If I'm allowed to go, can we go before the sun rises?"
"Anything for you, my beautiful princess." And he meant it with his entire being.
