He kissed Xavier on the top of his head, holding him tight to his chest. They had stopped torturing Katrina a few hours ago, but they figured that just meant the kill was coming next.
Cole didn't know. He had been feeling something weird coming from the bond since a little after the torture. It almost felt like she was sick. He had voiced this to his parents, and while they didn't say it, he knew it could be a multitude of reasons. Starvation, infection, hell, maybe even poison.
Still, it was time to prepare. And a part of that was sending his son away, to be cared for by Kai and Tyler in case he died.
