Black spots closed over Damon's face. I couldn't speak into the transmitter. I couldn't draw enough air to make a sound. A blast shook the billiard table beneath me. The soundproofed door tore from its hinges and struck the far wall in a spray of wood and dust. Damon's grip loosened as everyone turned toward the opening.
