Gage sat at the conference table with seven other Alphas. They were looking at more charts on rogue attacks. When they took place, what location, how many pack members were killed or taken, and trying to figure out what the rogues were up to and where they could attack next.
Gage couldn't take it anymore. He was sick and tired of hearing the same crap, meeting after meeting! He growled and banged his fists hard on the granite-top table. All the Alphas stopped talking and looked at him.
"I am sick of hearing the same s**t over and over, and looking at graphs and reports is just a waste of time! I have told all you chicken shits that we need to bring the fight to the rogues instead of trying to figure out what they're doing or when they're planning to attack. We just need to track down those mangy mutts and get rid of them once and for all," he screamed!
One of the older Alphas stood up. He was Alpha Green of the Moon Stream pack. He began by stating that he had a smaller pack than most of the other Alphas and didn't believe taking the risk of going after the rogues at this time would benefit his pack.
Gage blew up. He stood up from his chair and knocked it over in the process. He began shouting at all of them and couldn't believe what he was hearing. How in the world can anyone think that sitting and waiting is the best option?
Gage started to shake and growl. His eyes turned red. Everyone recognized his Lycan was taking over. They knew what the Lycan was capable of. It was powerful enough to take out every Alpha in the room if he lost control. Some of them stood up and left, not wanting to risk being around if Gage's Lycan broke free.
Alpha Roberto walked over to Gage. He was taking a huge risk just by approaching him. Roberto moved slowly and at the same time talked to Gage and let him know that he agreed with him, but he wanted Gage to try to relax and calm his lycan as nobody in the room had a quarrel with him or wanted him to lose control.
Gage heard his words and realized he was definitely on the verge of losing it. His eyes flashed from their normal honey color, then back to red. Gage turned to the door and pulled on the knob. In the process of opening the door, he ended up pulling it off the hinges, and it fell to the floor. He ran out of the building and straight for the forest.
He knew he couldn't shift into his wolf. His Lycan would not allow it. So he just ran and ran at top speed through the forest.
Gages' Lycan broke to the surface, and he tried to push him back down but could not. He shifted, and his lycan gave out a huge growl that could be heard for miles. The lycan grabbed at tree after tree and pulled them roots and all from the ground. He took his long claws and raked the forest floor.
Then, all of a sudden, he stopped and sniffed the air. He caught a scent and growled again. He followed the scent to the perimeter. Nobody was on guard. The scent was stronger, and his eye caught movement to his left, rogues.
The rogues caught sight of the ten-foot tall, black as night-lycan and knew it had to be The Savage Prince. They all turned to run, but it was too late. They were seen, and it took the Lycan seconds to rip them all to shreds. He growled and roared while pounding his huge muscular chest and ran deeper into the forest.
All of this was caught on the pack security cameras, and the Alphas in the meeting room were watching in horror.
A few hours later, Gage woke to find himself lying half in and half out of the river. His head was throbbing, and he was naked. He didn't have any memory of how he got there, which only meant one thing: his lycan had taken over. It scared him because he hadn't even been in battle.
He sat on the riverbank for a while, struggling to remember what had happened to make him lose control.
Gage wasn't like most lycans. Not only did he have a Lycan beast inside him, but he also had a wolf and the ability to shift into a wolf whenever he wanted. He could maintain control of his wolf, push him down, and block him out. His wolf, Zane, would only take full control when Gage gave him permission, and when Zane took control, Gage was able to communicate with Zane and demand control back when he wanted.
His lycan, however, when it emerged, Gage had no control at all. It took everything he had to try to keep the lycan from taking over. When his lycan did get full control, Gage and his wolf would basically be in a state of coma. They had no idea what the lycan was doing, no way to communicate with it or stop it from destroying everything in it's path.
After an episode, Gage would wake up with no memory and a throbbing headache. His lycan had taken control a few times, and that is how he had earned the nickname, The Savage Lycan Prince, which he absolutely detested.
The problem was that he had never been able to communicate with his lycan. His parents believed it was because his lycan first appeared when he was only nine years old.
Most lycans appear at the age of sixteen. Gage's lycan emerged more than seven years earlier than it was supposed to. The lycan shifted and took control to help Gage save himself and a young pup from rogues. His lycan had succeeded in killing them or running them off but had also landed him in the hospital for weeks.
He wasn't in the hospital because of any wounds or injuries. He was there because his lycan refused to hand control back over to Gage. He had to be sedated until the lycan relinquished full control.
Due to the sedation and trauma, Gage lost most of his memories up to then and had no recollection of the lycan emerging or even what had happened during the attack. Over the years, he tried and tried to reach out to his lycan to communicate with him but it was no use, his lycan would only growl or grunt and never communicated or even gave up it's name. When Gage turned eighteen, his wolf Zane emerged, and he also tried to reach the lycan beast but to no avail.
