The First Days Part 1

*Ryan*

'Why our mate', Nick groaned. "But for now let's just call it a night", her dad said shutting the book. I looked at my watch. Its only 2 am. Huh it feels later than that. "Let's go get the children ready for bed", my mate said softly before yawning making my heartbeat speed up. We rode the elevator and walked down the hallway in comfortable silence. "I'm sorry we have to do this", my mate sighed out breaking the relaxing silence. "Do what?". "Raise a baby that's not yours, take in a child also not from your blood or pack, and on top of that prepare for a battle which could end the world as we know it", she said rubbing her head. I breathed out a calming breathe and wrapped my arms around her bringing her closer. "Look first the baby wasn't going to live let alone breathe another breath without you, so I'm not jealous of my mate saving a life. Two, Both of these gremlins will challenge and prepare us for our own. And three, I wouldn't choose another mate if I had the chance because I would want someone like you with me until I die", I said lovingly. 'Her wolf's purring', Nick smiled. "W-When did you become so sweet-tongued", Rachel asked with her head down. "Are you blushing my beautiful mate?", I teased. "N-No", she said trying to pull out of my grasp. Keyword trying. "You are", I chuckled at her cuteness. "I could make you blush too with words". "Try me", I challenged. She reached up, wrapping her arms around my neck so I was forced to look into her soften eyes. "Ryan, are the best mate for letting take these children in our home. You didn't force into anything I didn't want to do. Your smart, funny, and the handsomest man I've ever seen. And I wouldn't love anyone else but you forevermore", she spoke softly. '*Urgh* She's good', Nick growled irritably. "But you know what's the best part about both you and your wolf", she said softly, running her hands gently to my collarbones causing my hair to stand up and my eyes to darken a little. "What?", Nick and I groaned out. She raised up on her tiptoes coming close to me, gently brushed her body against mine as her lips neared my right ear before saying, "Your mine, I'm yours, and...," she paused. My body was in a sweat. My heart was pounding. My eyes where darker than midnight in the dead of winter. My hands clenched tightly trying to control my wolf. 'She's a temptress', Nick growled in frustration. "I got you", she whispered before laughing at my reaction. "What?", I croaked out from the shock of what just happened. "I have the same affect on you as you have on me", she laughed again walking down the hallway. 'Does she really think she'll get away that easy?", Nick said. 'I think she does', I mindlinked. But she won't.

*Rachel*

'Why did you tempted our mates', Maya whined. 'Why not. Temptations deserves retributions in distributions', I smirked. 'But-'. Suddenly, My back was against the wall and my darken eyed mate was in front of me. "You really thought you could do that and walk away, sweetheart?", he said in a different tone of voice. "What's wrong with your voice. Cat got your tongue?", I laughed out. "More like wolf, honey", he smirked in a devilish way. "Ah so you're the smooth talker of the relationship", I giggled. "And you're the feisty one". "Yuppie, guppy". "Allow me to introduce myself. I'm Nick, the mightiest one out of the two, my lovely mate", he said before taking my hand and kissing it. "And the charmer", said shyly back. "Of course. All Ryan does is fumble with words". "I'm Rachel". "I know gorgeous", he said before spinning me around. "So you're present here why?". "Well, Ryan needed a break to recover from the blow you just thrown his way honey bunches", he said ending with a wink. "Let me guess. Couldn't take the heat?", I stiffled a laugh in. "Yeah basically", he shrugged. "Well it's nice to be acquainted with you". "As too you, my mesourir". "But I'm a little tired tonight so could you please bring back Ryan to hit the hay with me". 'But I want to know him better', Maya linked a whine. I gave her the look of 'later'. "Only if you let us get acquainted in the link tonight", Nick plead happily. "Fine". Suddenly, Ryan came back kinda in a dazed state of mind. "W-What happened?", he said rubbing his head. "Your wolf did", I laughed out. He looked startled at me. "What did he say? I'm gonna to apologize for him. He's kinda of a-". "No need. He was the perfect gentleman". This time he looked even more startled. "What did he say?". "Nothing much".
