Ep4: Choosing a Gift

Gu Yunshen’s birthday was approaching, and Lu Zeyang took some time off to go shopping for a gift. However, faced with the myriad of products, he was a bit at a loss.
“Sir, are you buying a gift for your wife?” the saleswoman asked enthusiastically.
“Yes,” Lu Zeyang nodded, “But I don’t know what she likes.”
The saleswoman smiled subtly and recommended a few pieces of jewelry. Lu Zeyang stared at a diamond necklace in the window, imagining Gu Yunshen wearing it. His lips curled into a faint smile.
In the end, he chose a delicate necklace. On her birthday, he personally placed it around her neck. “Thank you, Zeyang,” Gu Yunshen looked at herself in the mirror, smiling, “But having you by my side is the best gift.”
Lu Zeyang gently embraced her and whispered in her ear, “This is just the beginning. Every year will be even better.”

One of Lu Zeyang’s company meetings was suddenly canceled, and he decided to take Gu Yunshen on an impromptu trip. He didn’t tell her the destination, only smiling and saying, “Trust me, you’ll love it.”
A few hours later, they stood on a quiet beach. The sunset bathed the sand in a golden hue, and the sea waves gently crashed against the shore.
“Is this your surprise?” Gu Yunshen looked at the beautiful scenery in front of her, unable to contain her laughter.
“Like it?” Lu Zeyang asked, his eyes filled with anticipation.
“Of course, but next time, tell me in advance. I need to pack the right clothes,” Gu Yunshen replied playfully.
“Next time won’t be a beach,” Lu Zeyang held her hand seriously, “Next time, we’ll go to the Northern Europe, to see the Northern Lights.”
Gu Yunshen was slightly stunned, then smiled like a child, throwing herself into his arms. “You’d better keep your word.”
“Of course,” he lowered his head and kissed her forehead, “As long as it’s what you want, I’ll do my best to make it happen.”
That day, they spent a memorable evening on the beach, and their future, like that sea, was vast and full of hope.
