Ep2: A Late-Night Game Agreement

Late at night, Gu Yunshen was curled up on the couch, holding a tablet, deeply focused on a puzzle game. Every now and then, she would mumble, “Why can’t I get past this level? This is too hard!”
Lu Zeyang pushed open the door to the study, only to find her frowning, looking so concentrated. He raised an eyebrow and walked over to sit beside her, “What are you up to so late?”
“Playing a game,” she glanced up at him with a hint of frustration, “This level is way too difficult, I’ve been stuck for a while.”
“Match-3 game?” Lu Zeyang looked at her screen with a hint of disdain, “You’re stuck on this simple game?”
Gu Yunshen handed him the tablet with a playful smile, “Then try it! If you can get past this level, I’ll cook you your favorite sweet and sour ribs tomorrow.”
Lu Zeyang took the tablet, his lips curling into a confident smile, “Sweet and sour ribs aren’t so easy to cheat, I’ll clear this in two minutes.”
However, five minutes later, the screen still displayed a “failed” message. Lu Zeyang’s expression had gone from composed to serious, even a hint of frustration showing on his forehead. He stubbornly clicked “try again” and began analyzing every move with precision.
Gu Yunshen hugged her arms and watched his expression go from confident to focused, and finally, a bit defeated. She couldn’t help but laugh softly, “Lu Zeyang, I didn’t realize you could lose at such a simple game.”
“Shut up!” he gritted his teeth but couldn’t hide the faint red tinge on his ears.
In the end, after trying more than ten times, he finally passed the level. He handed the tablet back to Gu Yunshen with a smug smile, “See? Nothing is impossible for Lu Zeyang.”
“Sure, Mr. Lu, you’re the best.” Gu Yunshen teased him with a childish tone, causing him to glare at her but laugh helplessly.
Since that day, Gu Yunshen noticed that every evening, he would sit beside her with his own tablet. She teased him, “You said this game was boring.”
Lu Zeyang calmly replied, “Playing with my wife, how can it be boring?”
She smiled and shook her head, but deep inside, she felt an overwhelming sense of warmth.
