Demi felt a bit out of place because as soon as Jerimiah left, Troy shut her out of his mind. Demi wondered if he is mad because his best friend had to leave because of her or because he lost his pack pet.
Demi went into the kitchen and started to clean up, realizing that she will have to take over Jade’s duties. After cleaning up the kitchen she had a look around the packhouse, the few pack members there not taking paying her much attention. Demi overhears one of the girls, “a new pack pet, she better be a better cook than that pathetic Jade.”
