Blanchette arrives back home and in the distance, she could see the smoke from the treetops, Victor signaling her. Blanchette decides that she will go visit him for a short time.
Victor could hear Blanchette’s scooter and jump down from the treehouse, “school has been out for over two hours, where have you been?”
Victor picks her up and jumps up, into the treehouse with her. “I went to my grandmother’s,” Blanchette says taking out her grandmother’s handwritten recipe book and putting it on the wall shelf in the kitchen.
“That looks as old as I am,” Victor says, looking at the notebook that is held together with leather strings.
“It was my grandmother’s; it contains all her own recipes.
“Oh, we should try some of them,” Victor says, pulling her into his arms.
